    B) Explain with reference to the context of the poem what ideas or messages the poet wants to express
    in the following lines. (5)

    Who had driven out the cold
    And polished my good shoes as well
    What did I know, what did I know
    Of love’s austere and lonely offices?”
    Here the speaker expresses his regret and sorrow for not appreciating his father’s love, care
    Answer:
    and hard work. The ungrateful child has now become adult who criticizes his youthful lack of
    gratitude and links the fault with his early inability to understand his father’s struggle to make
    them feel happy and comfortable and keep them warm in the cold winter days.
    C) Why do you think the poet named the poem as ''Those Winter Sundays''? Suggest a suitable title of
    your own and justify your answer with one reason. (1.5+1+1.5=4)

    Answer: Those Winter Sundays is a poem about a memory. The speaker recalls the actions of a father
    who each Sunday rises early to dutifully make a fire and polish the good shoes for his son.

    Love between father's and son's. This title relates the relationship between fathers and son.
    Father's does work hard for their children.
