ATTENDANCE
For legitimate reasons only, a student is allowed to absent him/herself for a maximum of 2 lab sessions. Absences
beyond the specified limit will be assessed by the Chairman of the Department and will result in an AW or other
disciplinary measures. An unexcused absence from a drop quiz will result in a zero on that drop quiz. An unexcused
absence from an exam will result in a zero on that exam.
This is a new policy at LIU in which during the semester, all classes will be visited by
instructors either from the same or different departments. This policy helps instructors
figure out ways to improve student educational experiences in class and eventually their
performance.
