I. Objective I. At the end of the module, the students shall be able to:
1. Determining the Correct Order of Adjectives.
2. Identifying Images and Ideas that Influence
Reader/Viewers: propaganda
3. Arrange the series of adjectives in parentheses in the
proper order.
A. Content Standard  The learners use the Past Progressive Test in a
sentence
 Use the Present Progressive Tense
B. Performance Standard  The learner complete the form of the verbs
 Recognize present, past and future perfect tenses and their
progressive forms
 .Use perfect tenses with increasing accuracy.

C. Most Essential Learning The learner listens critically to different text types; expresses
Competencies (MELC) ideas logically in oral and written forms; and
Demonstrates interest in reading to meet various needs. The

Introduction (What I Need To Know?)

This Module in English 5 aims to help develop your skills in oral

language, listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary,


grammar, and writing and composition; It will also hone your
reading fluency and study skills to help you become an
independent learner.
This module has 2 parts on One (1) lesson. Lesson one (1) deals
with Determining the Correct Order of Adjectives, and two (2)
Identifying Images and Ideas that Influence Reader/Viewers:
propaganda lesson deals with that will help you manage
grammar and vocabulary.
Every part of the module contains activities and
enhancement exercises to be given the opportunities to apply
what you have learned individually, in pairs, or in groups.

Exercise: Arrange the series of adjectives in parentheses in the


proper order. Write your answers in the blanks. (page 162)
Development (What I Know?)

 When more than one adjective is written before a noun,


their order depends on the function of each adjective.
Below is the usual order of adjectives when used in
succession, so that there is no need for the use of commas
or the coordinating conjunction and.
 Propaganda- is all about influencing the opinion of people
through words and images.

Example of Determining the Correct Order of Adjectives,
Identifying Images and Ideas that Influence Reader/Viewers:
propaganda
1. Determiners
a. articles – a, an, the
b. demonstrative- this, these, that, those
c. possessive- my, our, your, his, her, its, their
d. distributive- each, every, either, neither
e. indefinite- all, any, another, both, few, many, some,
such, several, and so fourth
2. Number
a. ordinal- denotes the order or position of the noun in a
sequence.
Example: The second contestant performed outstandingly.
b. cardinal- denotes the quantity of the noun (answers the
question, “how many?”)
Example: I have five close friends in school.

3. Quality/Opinion
- Adjectives that describe ones observation/what one thinks of the
noun.
Example: Grandpa says I am an intelligent girl.
4. Size
- Adjectives that state how big or small the noun is.
Example: The tiny puppy hid under the couch.
1. Bandwagon- is a technique that aims to persuade people to do
the same things as everyone else does or to think in the same way
everyone else thinks.
Example: Everyone is drinking product A soda; you should, too.
2. Testimonial- is the propaganda type that uses the words of an
expert or a famous person in prompting a particular product,
service, or idea
Example: A famous supermodel saying that her hair is always
beautiful and shiny because of shampoo
3. Plain folks- is the technique in which the
speaker/propagandist presents himself or herself as an average
person can relate better to people much like himself/herself
