PREFACE

It is the requirement of the B.B.A 4 Years from The Legend College affiliated with University of
Punjab that all students of B.B.A 4 Years have to spend six or eight weeks in any organization to
get practical exposure and to get familiarized with the ways to live in the organizational
environment which is dramatically different from the educational environment. That two
months period called “Internship Period “, if spent properly and sincerely, enables the students
to be more confident, more knowledgeable, more responsible and, above all, more committed
to its work in the practical field. I have also been assigned to do internship of six weeks period
in M.A INDUSTRIES.

It has enabled me to understand the practical scenario and sharpen our decision making power
and utilizing the resources in an effective manner, so that our resources generate maximum
profit.

In preparing this report, I have put all of my best efforts and tried my level best to give
maximum knowledge. Despite of my all the coherent efforts, I do believe that there will always

be a room for improvement in the efforts of learner like me .

Human Resource Department
Employee’s benefits & advantages:

This department is also called the backbone of the any company. Because the success of any
business is depending upon it. The reason is that the employee’s benefits are related with this
department. All the recruitment is to be done by this department. Training, Recruitment,
selection, and compensation are the main function performed by this particular department.

Training & development:

This is one of the important functions of human resources department. All employees needed
specific training related to their function to maintain company standards. Training is not only
important for the employees but it is necessary for newly hired people whether they are
experienced or not. Training is also important to develop carrier planning and promotion
system and records for monitoring employee’s carrier progress. It helps managers to evaluate
and recommend employees for development of all activities and only training provides
information regarding how to institute and operate quality improvement programs and team
building.

Employees Benefits & Advantages:

Benefits are the rewards which are given to employees in the response of their good
performance. It is being analyzed that employee’s productivity is directly related to benefits.
If a firm wants to motivate their employees a good number of benefits should be given to
them. M.A INDUSTRY is emerging because it is using strategy that they are giving quite a
reasonable number of advantages to their permanent employees.

Finance Department
Finance department is the part of M.A INDUSTRY that manages its money. The basic
functions that a finance department typically includes planning, organizing, auditing,
accounting for and controlling its company's finances. The finance department also
usually produces the company's financial statements

Bookkeeping and Payables/Receivables

Bookkeeping is the most basic financial activity in a company. Before a business owner ever
considers hiring a CFO, they bring in a bookkeeper, who tracks all of the transactions in the
organization, covering both sales and expenses. As the organization grows, they might hire
more specialized payables and receivables clerks, to take over functions such as
corresponding with vendors and suppliers, above and beyond recording transactions.

Financial Reporting and Control

Financial Reporting and Control is the function that takes raw accounting entries and
transforms them into usable and comparable financial statements. Requiring far more
judgment than the bookkeeper’s role, this function involves everything from ruling on how to
implement accounting principles to designing financial processes of the organization,
selecting accounting systems, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring that there are no gaps
or oversights in existing processes.

Tax and Compliance

Running a business involves paying tax, and paying tax means doing a lot of calculations and
filling out a lot of forms. Often using the financial statements as a basis, along with various
other configurations of the information produced by Bookkeeping and Payables/Receivables,
the Tax and Compliance function will make sure all of the government forms and filings are
sent complete and on-time to the taxman. A strong Tax and Compliance function will go one
step beyond simple compliance, and will find ways to minimize tax, so as to maximize the
company’s net income.

Treasury & Working Capital Management

The key role of Treasury is to make sure that the company doesn’t run out of cash. This
means, among other things, forecasting the upcoming working capital (receivables, payables
and inventory) needs of the company, investing surplus cash in short-term instruments to
generate modest interest income, and managing currency risk.

Capital Budgeting

Capital Budgeting is the function responsible for selecting between the various uses of
capital, or capital projects. After all, most organizations will have money available to invest
in the business, with the hopes of either growing sales or reducing expenses. But the
opportunities for spending typically exceed the amount available to spend, so Capital
Budgeting develops business cases to evaluate and identify the most effective projects. A
strong Capital Budgeting function will not only forecast project benefits, but will also track
these benefits over time to determine whether the use of capital was as effective as originally
anticipate.

SWOT Analysis
SWOT analysis is an incredibly simple, yet powerful tool to help you develop your business
strategy, whether you’re building a startup or guiding an existing company.
SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats.

Strengths and weaknesses are internal to your company—things that you have some control
over and can change. Examples include who is on your team, your patents and intellectual
property, and your location.

Opportunities and threats are external—things that are going on outside your company, in the
larger market. You can take advantage of opportunities and protect against threats, but you
can’t change them. Examples include competitors, prices of raw materials, and customer
shopping trends.

STRENGTHS

sectors of those markets.

 It has strong research and development capabilities that are growing.

 M.A INDUSTRY has strong relationships with retailers.

 It includes well-established brands with a large amount of market share in some of the largest

WEAKNESSES
 Much of its sales depend upon a few well-recognized brands. This makes the
company vulnerable to any sudden changes in consumer behavior.

 Some of its brands, such as modern, are not tailored to modern lifestyles and are seen
as old-fashioned by some customers.

 The company is heavily dependent upon advertising to shape consumer opinion and
drive traditional sales. This can lead to high marketing costs with a questionable
return on investment.
 There is a high cost for launching new brands to supplement older, less-fashionable
food products.

Making products

Everyone company wants that their products and brands run successfully in market

and generate revenue. Many companies try to copy the existing successful brand name,

advertising and marketing strategy logo, but they do slight change in spell of name or in logo.

But now a day companies are giving names of social media web sites to make their product

more famous.

Procurement department where the head was Mr. SAQLAN he was also the head of

Raw material he ordered the raw material on the bases of the planning of the factory that how

much they need the material and what kind of the material. According to production he places

the order for the future. I went there he gave the list of the materials and the quantity he asked

me to review it. Then I attended the meeting between the manufactures who delivers the raw

materials for the factory. M.A INDUSTRY has the term and law for the manufactures who

delivers the raw material if they don’t follow these term then they can cancel the order for
example if the raw material is not according to their need or it lake the consistency the

research and development department cancel the order and ask them to ring the new one. The

manufacturer told me about the marketing situation in the Pakistan. He told me that to bring

the order as high quantity as this they have to be prepare for the long time. Meeting went

about 1 hour where Mr. SAQLAN gave them the orders for the next month also. After the

raw material arrived in the factory it is examine in the research and development department

Mr. SHAHID assigned me to Mr. SAQLAN who is head of purchasing raw material in

factory

 I inquired Mr. SAQLAN about Raw Material use to make the products which

was very informative and helpful.

 The products included; Royal Treat, Peanut Passion, Chocolaty, Waltz,

Chocolate Wafer and Strawberry Wafer.

 Mr. SAQLAN gave the detail of products ingredients one by one with details

of product’s ingredients & nutritional information as are under.

Conclusion

In my point of view, the internal setup and working pattern is not enough
well developed regarding to the management. There is lack of some management functions
like planning, organizing, leading and controlling. This sort of thing comes in strategic
planning. So, as a whole company should focus on strategic planning in which all these
things come. But to the external environment, the company has well reputed image in the
public. It seems to be working well according to the market situation. It had captured a large
volume of market share. One good thing is that they know how to make and retain customers
according to market trend. So, they listen customers complains and solved them on priority
basis. They believe in quality not quantity. Company is very much conscious about the
satisfaction of the customers and their quality product. All the staff of the company is also
very cooperative to the customer and work with coordination for better quality.

   RECOMENDATION
Company is doing well its business. But there is always need for improvement in every
system.
So, I suggest following recommendations for the company. If the company adopts them, I
think it can increase company revenue.

 They must have separate department for marketing, sales, HR, and administration
 An employee friendly environment must be created. So, employee’s small mistakes should be
ignored.
 A website is very necessary for company now a day. As all other ghee companies are
providing online booking facility to the customers.
 Punctuality of workers and strong communication between departments must be assured.
 Free campaign about the acknowledgement of product.
Packaging style is old and need to be revised (like Dalda has recently introduced an oil bottle
with interactive features)
