SHS - Lesson Plan

This lesson plan summarizes a lesson on resistors for an electronic products assembly and servicing course. The objectives are to define resistors, identify different types of resistors, and understand the importance of resistors. The content will be presented through a video, pre-test, PowerPoint presentation, and showing actual resistors. Students will participate through reading and questions. Assessment includes multiple choice and short answer questions about resistors and their properties. Follow up exercises are planned for students who do not reach mastery.

III. PROCEDURE
A. PRELIMINARIES
1. Greeting of the class.
2. Checking of the attendance.
3. Review of the past lesson.
B. LESSON PROPER
1. Activity
a. A video clip showing how resistors are made in large scale production plant.
b. A pre-test will be administered to assess student’s prior knowledge about resistors.
2. Analysis
a. The topic will be presented in class using a prepared power point presentation. Student
interaction is solicited by asking the students to read parts of the topic being discussed aloud
in class.
b. Questions related to the topic is given while the discussion is on-going to allow the students
to share relevant information based on their actual experiences on gadgets that actually use
resistors.
3. Abstraction
a. The students are shown actual resistor to help them identify first-hand the actual appearance
of resistors while the discussion is on-going.
4. Assessment
Multiple Choice. Choose the best answer. Write the letter only.
