Introductory Message

Welcome to Research Grade 3!

The Learning Activity Sheet is a product of the collaborative efforts of the


Schools Division of Iloilo and DepEd Regional Office VI - Western Visayas
through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD). This is
developed to guide the learning facilitators (teachers, parents and responsible
adults) in helping the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Basic
Education Curriculum.

The Learning Activity Sheet is self-directed instructional materials aimed


to guide the learners in accomplishing activities at their own pace and time
using the contextualized resources in the community. This will also assist the
learners in acquiring the lifelong learning skills, knowledge and attitudes for
productivity and
employment.

For learning facilitator:

The Research Activity Sheet will help you facilitate the leaching-learning
activities specified in each Most Essential Learning Competency (MELC) with
minimal or no face-to-face encounter between you and learner. This will be
made available to the learners with the references/links to ease the
independent learning.

For the learner:

The Research Activity Sheet is developed to help you continue learning


even if you are not in school. This learning material provides you with
meaningful and engaging activities for independent learning. Being an active
learner, carefully read and understand the instructions then perform the
activities and answer the assessments. This will be returned to your facilitator on
the agreed schedule.

RESEARCH 3 ACTIVITY SHEET

I. Learning Competency
Express understanding of a text through drawings/ illustrations
or any graphical representation.

II. Background Information:


Understanding of a given text can be shown through
drawings illustrations for vivid interpretation. A reader interprets a
text based on the meaning he/ she gives to the language.

Illustrations-something that serves to illustrate such as;


a. A picture or diagram that helps make something
clear or attractive
b. An example or instance that helps make something
clear
c. The action of illustrating; the condition of being
illustrated
Graphical representation-of or relating to the pictorial arts
a. of, relating to, or involving such reproductive methods
as those of engraving, etching, photography and
woodcut
Example:
There were three girls crossing along the pedestrian lane.
Judee, the girl holding a balloon was my sister. The shortest was
Eden and the tallest among three was Carla. The three were
wearing eyeglasses. They are my friends in school.

It was a cloudy day. Ellyce and JL were playing in the yard.


Suddenly, heavy rain poured but they continued playing in
the rain.

Laughing was our only wealth. Father was a laughing man. He


would go to the living room and stand in front of the tall mirror,
stretching his mouth with his fingers and making faces at himself.

Mang Jose has gray hairs already. He sat down in a Café


shop drinking his coffee. While drinking his coffee, he sniffed at the
odor of the bread being baked at the nearby bakery.
