IV. Teaching Procedure


A. Daily Routine Greetings, Prayer, Checking of attendance

B. Introduction/Simple Before the teacher continue the lesson about “Functions of


Review or Recall Communication” she will give a short review first about the first
two functions that has been discussed last meeting (Control and
Motivation)

C. Development of the

Teaching Strategies

a. ACTIVITY The teacher will flash a slide that contains famous lines from a
different movie and call a random student for the activity called
“Show Me How to Say It”. and they will say it depends on what
they will pick from the spinner that contains pictures of different
emotions or emoticons.

b. ANALYSIS Aligned with the given activity, the teacher will connect it to the
lesson about the third function of communication which is
“Emotional Expression”. The teacher will discuss the definition,
explain the functions, its importance in communication and its
examples.

Concept Note:

Emotional Expression
In psychology, emotional expressions are both verbal and
nonverbal behaviors which describe internal state and take
palace with or without self-awareness. People express their
emotions simultaneously across several channels like facial
expression, laughing, crying etc.

Importance in Communication
Emotional expressions are necessary to enhance messages, to
convey authenticity and to develop trust. How we interact with
people will determine how they will respond to us and we can
control this when we are aware of how we come across with non-
verbal communication such as facial expressions.

Examples of Emotions
c. ABSTRACTION

The students will answer the following questions to wrap-up the


lesson:

1. What is the importance of non-verbal cues such as emotional


expression in conveying a message?
2. How can manipulation of emotional expression affect the
message?
3. How can you apply the lesson of emotional expression as a
function of communication in your strand? Give a specific
scenario.
4. How might your mood affect your decision-making and
communication style?
d. APPLICATION/ 5. What do you do to manage your emotions effectively?
ASSESSMENT

The students will be asked to write a 250-word essay about


how they manage their emotions towards the negative issues or
news during the Enhanced Community Quarantine or Luzon
Lockdown due to pandemic (Covid19).

Students’ Essay will be graded according to this criteria:

Content 25%
Organization/Clarity 25%
Relevance to the topic 25%
Grammar usage/Mechanics 25%
TOTAL 100%
