1. Installation Environment
1) Need to be installed on the deck or foundation with enough strength and the surface where foundation bed and the
common bed of air compressor are contacted should be on the same level.

2) To provide enough space (at least 1 meter) around the compressor for easy maintenance.

3) Location where is less dust, light, quiet, and well-ventilated. Installation of duct is recommended for good ventilation.
Particularly, ventilation system is critical for air-cooled compressor and cooling air should be provided towards the front of
cooling fan of the compressor.

2. Drain
1) Drain should be discharged to the atmosphere as soon as it emerges before it is built up. Otherwise, it could cause a
back-flow which gets into the inside of cylinder so that it result in a serious accident by destroying oil film between piston
and cylinder. Therefore, appropriate handling of drain generated from air compressor is very important and piping of drain
needs more attention since there is a possibility of an accident especially in case several compressors with big capacity are
installed on a vessel together.

2) Be careful not to connect the drain line of high pressure (ex. H.P magnetic valve) with the drain line of low pressure (ex.
Auto drain trap) for proper drain system. If they use the same line, drain from low pressure cannot be discharged and the
drain from high pressure back-flows to low pressure so that it brings about an accident to compressor.

3) When some compressors stop and the others are in operation of a vessel where several compressors are installed, drain
from the air compressors in operation can back-flow towards the compressors at a stop. In this case, drain back-flow can be
prevented by installing drain chamber, hopper or vent line etc which could help dissolve the pressure generated in the line.
However, the most recommendable way is to install an independent drain line for each compressor and make drain being
discharged to the atmosphere if possible.

4) Both drain lines of oil & water separator and air reservoir should also be independent from the air compressor drain line.
If unavoidable, sufficient measures which are mentioned in a clause of 3) should be applied not to have an impact on
compressor.

3. Cooling Water (For water-cooled air compressor only)


1) Check the exact quantity of cooling water required. If an insufficient supply of cooling water can cause overheating to
air compressor and produce carbon which results in damage to piston and cylinder or breakdown of air valves.

2) Check the temperature of cooling water inlet. In case of fresh water cooling system, recommendable temperature range
of cooling water inlet is between 36°C and 45°C.

3) Check the difference of cooling water temperature of inlet and outlet. It should be within 10°C when fresh water cooling.

4) Stop valve at cooling water inlet and outlet side need to be installed for repairing work.

※Sea water cooling is prohibited for H-series air comp.(H-63/64/264/73/74/273/274/373/374); fresh water cooling only.

1. 압축기 설치장소 관련
1) 충분한 강도의 DECK 혹은 지반 위에 설치되어야 하며, 하부 지지대(FOUNDATION BED)의 장비와 설치
되는 면은 정확히 평면이 되어야 합니다.

2) 압축기의 정비를 용이하게 하기 위하여 전후 좌우 및 상방으로 충분한 정비공간을 확보해주십시오.

3) 통풍이 원활한 장소, 혹은 DUCT의 설치를 통하여 신선한 공기를 공급하여 주십시오. 특히 공랭식 압축
기의 경우 냉각공기의 적절한 공급은 매우 중요하며, 냉각공기는 압축기의 냉각팬 앞쪽으로부터 공급되어
야 합니다.

2. 압축기 DRAIN관련 유의사항


1) 압축기의 DRAIN은 그때그때 대기로 방출하여 주는 것이 가장 좋으며 제대로 배출되지 못하거나 DRAIN
이 역류하여 압축기 실린더 내부로 들어오게 되면 피스톤/실린더간의 유막을 파손하여 사고를 일으키게 됩
니다. 따라서 압축기에서 발생하는 DRAIN의 원활한 처리는 매우 중요하며 특히 대용량의 압축기가 여러대
설치된 경우에 있어 사고위험이 높으므로 DRAIN의 배관에 유의하여야 합니다.

2) 압축기의 DRAIN은 고압부(H.P MAGNETIC VALVE등)와 저압부(AUTO DRAIN TRAP등)를 함께 연결하여 배


관해서는 안됩니다. 이러한 경우 저압측의 DRIAN 배출이 되지 않으며 고압측의 DRAIN이 저압측으로 역류
하여 압축기의 사고를 일으킬 수 있습니다.

3) 여러 대의 압축기가 함께 설치된 상태에서 일부의 압축기가 정지하였을 때 다른 압축기가 운전되는 경


우 DRAIN 배관이 서로 연결되어 있다면 정지해 있는 압축기쪽으로 DRAIN의 역류가 발생할 수 있으므로
유의해야 합니다. 이러한 경우 DRAIN CHAMBER, HOPPER, 혹은 VENT LINE등을 설치하여 LINE상에 생기는
배압을 충분히 해소하여 DRAIN의 역류가 일어나지 않도록 조치해야 하며, 가능하다면 각각의 DRAIN 배관
을 독립적으로 분리/설치하여 대기로 방출하는 것이 가장 좋은 방법입니다.

4) 압축기의 DRAIN 배관에 OIL & WATER SEPARATOR나 AIR RESERVOIR의 DRAIN이 함께 배관되어서는 안
됩니다. 부득이한 경우 압축기에 영향이 없도록 3)번에서 언급한 충분한 조치가 선행되어야 합니다.

3. 압축기 냉각수 관련 유의사항 (수냉식 압축기의 경우)


1) 장비에 요구되는 냉각수량을 정확히 확인하여 주십시오. 부족시 장비가 과열하여 카본의 대량생성, 피스
톤 및 실린더의 손상, VALVE PLATE 파손 등 여러 가지 사고의 원인이 됩니다.

2) 냉각수 입구온도를 확인하여 주십시오. 일반적으로 청수냉각의 경우 냉각수 입구 온도범위는 36~45 ℃


이내가 되어야 합니다.

3) 냉각수 입/출고 온도차를 확인하여 주십시오. 청수냉각의 경우 10℃이내가 되어야 합니다.

4) 냉각수 입/출구측에는 정비를 위한 STOP VALVE가 각각 설치되어야 합니다.

※ H-SERIES 압축기(H-63/64/264/73/74/273/274/373/374)의 경우, 청수냉각만 가능합니다. (해수냉각불가)

How to install the Air compressor 공기압축기의 설치
1. How to set the air compressor in the vessel (Rigid condition). 선박내의 공기압축기 설치법
․Check the gap between air compressor unit with common bed and
foundation bed and adjust the gap.
압축기와 파운데이션 베드간의 간극을 확인하고 조절해야 합니다.
- Putting the air compressor unit on foundation bed plate without fitting and
measure each gap.
압축기를 파운데이션 베드위에 자유상태로 놓고 간극을 측정합니다.
(볼트 등으로 고정하지 마십시오.)
- Insert the adjusting shims into the gap. 간극조정용 심을 삽입합니다.
- Or, readjust the foundation bed liner. But, in case of the gap is bigger than
0.1 mm as the above illustration, readjust to be within 0.1 mm
혹은 파운데이션 베드의 라이너를 재조정합니다. 단, 그림에서 보이는 간극이
0.1 mm 보다 커서는 안됩니다.
․Please pay your attention to the above points, complete the adjustment for installation.
위의 사항을 확인 및 주의하여 주시고, 설치작업에 임해주십시오.
․After that, tighten and fix all the set bolts/nuts and adjust the center alignment for air compressor/motor in
accordance with our instruction book. (In case of direct coupling machinery.)
이후에, 고정 볼트/너트를 조이고 당사의 취급설명서를 참조하시어 센터조정작업을 실시하여 주십시오.

Caution
When use the synthetic oil, we recommend to apply the oil after running-in initial operation of air
compressor for about 300 hours with mineral lubricants.
Replacement of crank shaft oil seal should be done at the time of overhauling while using synthetic
oil. In case of H-series compressors (H-63,64,264,73,74,273,274,373,374), oil seal can be used
successively as far as no swelling or settling were found at the time of overhauling.
