DETAILED LESSON-english

The detailed lesson plan outlines how to teach students to visualize and represent subtracting one-digit numbers from minuends up to 18. It includes learning objectives, resources, procedures for teacher-led instruction and student practice activities, and an assessment. The lesson introduces place value concepts, reviews addition, presents subtraction examples, discusses new concepts, provides mastery practice, applies skills to daily life situations, evaluates learning, and assigns additional practice problems.

DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS 1

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard - Demonstrates understanding of addition and subtraction of whole
numbers up to 100 including money.
B. Performance Standard - Apply addition and subtraction of whole numbers up to 100
including money in mathematical problems and real-life situations.
C. Learning Competency - Visualizes, represents, and subtracts one-digit numbers with
minuends through 18 (basic facts). (M1NS-IIg-32.1)
II. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
LO1: Identify ones and tens place of a given 2-digit number.
LO2: Visualizes the difference of one-digit numbers from one-two digit number with minuends
through 18.
LO3: Subtracts one-digit numbers with minuends through 18.

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

•Teacher's Guide Page
•Learner's Materials

IV. SUBJECT MATTER

Visualizing and representing subtracts one-digit numbers with minuends through 18.

V. PROCEDURE

TEACHER'S ACTIVITY PUPIL'S ACTIVITY

Preparatory activities:

Good morning children! Good morning teacher!

Let us all sing a mathematics song. Mathematics, mathematics

Lots of fun, lots of fun
It is so exciting and so interesting
I love math, i love math.

A. Drill about place value :

Lets identify the number of tens and ones in a two-digit

numbers.
Example:
In 79, how many tens are there? How many ones are 7 tens, 9 ones
there?
How about in 18, how many tens and ones are there? 1 tens, 8 ones

B. Review for addition :

Before we proceed to our next topic. Let us first review

about addition.

88, 99, 84

51, 62, 93

In 25 + 26 = 51. The 25 and 26 is what we called addends.

The (+) is an addition symbol. The 51 is the final result or the
sum.

C. Presenting examples of new lesson:

Present a story problem.

There are 18 flowers, if we take away 6. How
many flowers are left?

18
1 tens
Ask: How many flowers are there? 8 ones
In 18, how many tens are there?
How many ones are there?

To look for the difference we must subtract 6

from 18, that is perform 18 - 6 =
Let us subtract two-digit number by arranging
the number sentence in column using the place
value chart. Align the numbers in the right side
following their place value. 1st subtract 6 from 8
in ones place.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new

skills # 1

Present a problem solving.

I have 16 apple's. I gave 5 to Ma'am Amy. How
many are left?
Let us subtract the two-digit number using place
value chart. 1 tens
In 16, how many tens are there? 6 ones
How many ones are there?

Tens Ones

1 6
11 apple's
- 5

1 1

So, how many are left?

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new

skills # 2

Let's try this:

10 - 5 = 5 5
6-3=3 3
12 - 6 = 6 6
17 - 3 = 14 14

F. Developing mastery:
5
3
2
3
5

G. Finding practical application of concepts and

skills in daily living:

8
2
4
1
5

H. Making generalization of concepts and skills in

daily living:

Explain the parts of subtraction.

Minuend: The number from which the other
number is subtracted.
Subtrahend: The number which is to be
subtracted from the minuend.
Difference: The final result after subtracting the
subtrahend from the minuend.

I. Evaluating learning:

Assessment:

B,B

B,D

D,B

C,D
J. Additional activities for application or
remediation:

Assignment:
Find the difference.
1. 10 - 5 =
2. 13 - 6 =
3. 9 - 3 =
4. 18 - 7 =
5. 7 - 4 =
