Welcome to the world of Art Grade 6, one of the components of MAPEH for the First
Quarter containing topics such as:
Application of Art Processes, Elements and Principles in Commercial Art (Logo
Design)
Utilization of art skills using modern technologies (hardware and software) in
creating personal or class logo, comic art and cartoon character
This learning kit is designed through the collaborative efforts of MAPEH Supervisor and
MAPEH teachers from the public institutions to guide you, the facilitator, to reach the
learners and meet the DepEd set standard for continuous education while combatting
learning barriers we are experiencing at the midst of the new normal situation.
As a facilitator you are expected to help and guide the learner on how to use the learning
kit. You are as well expected to motivate the learner while he/she is doing his/her part in
accomplishing the kit independently and at the same time completed the most essential
learning competencies assigned for this quarter.

Utilizes art skills in using new technologies (hardware and software) in cartoon

Explains ideas about the cartoon character created to entertain, express opinions,
ideas, etc. (A6PR-Ih)
For the Parents
This Supplementary Learning Kit is envisioned to reach the learners through guided and
independent learning suited to their capabilities, speed and scheduled time. As parents,
you are then expected to give prior knowledge to the learners on how to use this learning
kit. There is also a need to monitor and record the learners’ progress while they are
independently accomplishing the activities included in the kit.

technologies. As part of the MS Word, let’s use the publisher.
Microsoft publisher is a desktop publishing application. Publisher is seen as an easy to
use entry-level desktop publisher and is targeted at individuals or small businesses who
may not have design professionals at hand. Adapting a logo in Publisher may save you
some time and money on logo design.
Directions: Here are the steps in using publisher. Number them in sequence.
_____ Open a publication in Microsoft Publisher.
_____ Click the “Design Gallery Object” icon on the Objects toolbar.
_____ Click “Insert Object.”
_____ Browse through the logo designs and select one that you like. Select the
text and image options you want, such as providing space for two lines of
text with the logo.
_____ Click “Logos.”
_____ Make any other changes to the logo that you wish to make and save the
file.
_____ Click where you want to insert a logo in the document.
_____ Click the picture box to replace the placeholder image with your own
image. If you have an illustration or image file you want to use for the logo,
insert it here. Right-click the placeholder and click “Change Picture.” Select
the image you want to insert.
_____ Select the text in the logo’s text box and replace the placeholder text with
your own content. For instance, type your business name or slogan.

What is Microsoft Publisher?
Microsoft Publisher is an Office suite program used primarily for laying out and designing
publications, from websites and newsletters to business cards and brochures. However,
Publisher also allows you to create your own logo by modifying one of the logos included
in the Publisher Design Gallery. You need to provide your own content in terms of logo
text and graphics.
Publisher offers excellent control over certain aspects of your publication. Publisher
makes it easy to work with documents in a variety of sizes and shapes. It also has a
large number of tools to help you arrange and align text, images, and other objects within
page margins.
Here are 9 easy steps to access Publisher:
