Proposed title for my project: Making and Selling Art

What is your inquiry question that interests you for further research? It should be a question that
connects with a purpose, passion or personalized area of interest for you. This is a question that
you cannot just google an answer for. Please see examples from your Capstone booklet.
My inquiry question is:

Cam I still sell art online even if im not a profesional artist

Rationale/context: Detail your reasons for choosing this inquiry question. Explain WHY you are
choosing to investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry connect
to your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?

Ever since elementary school ive been very pationate about art and creating it. Since
elementary school I have created many art pieces im very proud of and have developed my
skill as an artist incredible. But when I watch other proffesionl artists I see the major gap
between me and them and I want to use the capstone assignment to excel myself and my
artistic ability by reaching out to other professional artists and art teachers anout different
techniques and abilities I can use to create better artwork.
I also want to sell my art becuase I have worked very hard on most pieces and I want to see
what I can sell them for

Background: What background knowledge/connections/prior learning do you have in this

area of inquiry?

I have been watching proffesional artists videos/edits of them creating their own art since
grade 6, I have been creating art since elementary school where I was obsessed with drawing
dragons all the time. I have taken many art classes throughout school and am ready to
take/learn more

Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What
connections does this inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals?

 My intended career is an electrician and making art does not really have a connection to it, art
for me is a way to express myself and how I feel and gives me satisfaction when completeing
a art piece. It’s a good stress reliever and very enjoyable for me and will always be something
I will do outside of my work life. But I will be selling art and that could be an effective

Creative thinking
I will have to come up with ideas on how and what to make for my art, I want to come up with
something I haven’t done before to challenge myself to create something and try new things to
better my ability. I want to create more original pieces, so maybe something that inspires me
or that is about me; not using ideas from other artists work
Personal Responsibility
I want to create many different pieces of art including many paintings and many different
customizations. Meaning I will have to create a plan on when I can get this done because time
managment will be essential to getting this done.

I will be creating many different youtube videos on art, I will be filiming me

creating the art and editing it to the different styles of videos I watch online.
Good example is Vexx on youtube

Description of my Capstone project. Specific Project Details of the Capstone Project: what
will you research, create, study, produce, solve, investigate? What product will be produced
at the end of this project for evaluation. Write a one-page description outlining your
proposal.

My goal this capstone project is to create a series of videos dedicated to showing my

ability to create and bring art to life. This will be done in many different mediums such as
paintings, paper, clothing, shoes, ect. I plan to record myself the whole time while creating

 these pisces of art at many different angles and ways to create entertaining videos similar to
that of famous artists such as Vexx, Gawx, ect. I hope to once completed sell these to people
through social media on sites like instagram, facebook marketplace, snapchat.
I have already purchased all the items I need that includes, desk mounted tripod, many
canvases, paints, paint bruges, copic markers, Micron fineliners, pencils, glass jars, placemat
and many more little things.
I have looked through many articles on different painting techniques and tricks, I will be
speaking to the art teacher and asking him to be my mentor for my art project later this month.
Coming up with original ideas has been a struggle for me sometimes, often some of my most
favorite pieces are complete re-makes (not direct copies) of other artists ideas. During my
capstone assignment I have started to use my own environment to influence what I create and
to build my own ideas. I have improved it by designating one sketchbook to a scrap
sketchbook and just using it for drawing and creating the most random pieces and doodles. It
has since proven very useful and I have greatly improved my arts originality.
I will first pencil out the design making it possible to erase/change up the design if im not
satisfied with it. From there if im happy with the design I will either paint the colours first if its a
painting, or finelineit first if its on paper. After that I will either finish finelining it with a fine
paintbrush if its a painting, or colour it in if its on paper.
I am very passionate about this and want to produce the best videos; I will do this by
videoing everything in either timelapses or normal videos on my Iphone. Then I will import the
videos onto my computer at home and use the free video editing software knows as capcut. I
have prior experience with CapCut from previous school assignments and other projects
outside of school. I have taken lots of inspiration from creators like Vexx and Gawx in their
editing style and am already preacticing how to edit like them. From there I will publish the
videos on my youtube channel that will be made at a later date, views and likes will not be a
factor I care about throughout this project. From there I will use one of the social media sites
(Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat) to sell my artwork. I will likely be selling the artwork to
friends or family and maybe even some random people that happen to like my art.

Online mentors will be huge, I plan to reach out to many artists online to help me and give me
examples and tips on how to perfects and answer some questions I have. I also am going to
be asking the REMSS Art teacher(s) for info and help on my pieces and ask for help with ex.
Colourpalets.

Project limitations: What are some project limitations and potential obstacles that you foresee
that might affect progress with your Capstone Project?

The only possible limitation I see that could prevent me from forseeing this project forward is
people not buying my art. But that would conclude my inquiry question about selling art
