DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN Grade 6

Date: November 24, 2022

I. Objectives
At the end of the 60-minute session, the students will be able to:
a. develop good decisions in life for oneself and to the people around,
b. construct decisions using critical thinking; and
c. apply critical thinking in life moral dilemmas.

II. Subject Matter


Learning Competency:
Topic: Critical Thinking/ Mapanuring Pag-iisip
Materials: Powerpoint presentation, Visual aids
Reference: Grade 6 – Curriculum guide / Grade 6 – Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao

 Prayer
“Before we start our lesson, let us all stand for our “Dear God, please guide our lecture for today,
opening prayer. Caryn please lead the prayer.” protect our parents, teacher and everyone.”

“Good morning, everyone!”

 Attendance
“Please be on your proper seats, those who are
not on your proper seats will be marked absents.” “Yes Teacher!”

 Review
“Who can tell us about our last topic?”

2. Motivation
The pupils will perform the ako, ikaw, tayo'y isang
komunidad energizer.
The teacher will ask question to the students on
how important for everyone of us to have each
others back and the essence of using critical
thinking in decision making for the good of oneself
and everyone.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Activity

Think-Pair-Share.

Choose a partner, tell each other a story that you


have consider as the most difficult dilemma that
has happened to you or with your family.

How did you solve it ?


Did you consider other people in the decision you
made ?
Did you and your family criticaly think about your
decision first before solving it ?
2. Analysis.

Your parents was having a problem providing


financial support for your studies and for your four
other siblings who are also going to school. She
asked you to stop and help her in gaining money to
provide your siblings to go to school, what will you
do?

3. Abstraction.

Critical Thinking is the objective analysis and


evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment.
It is the intellectually disciplined process of
actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying,
analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating
information gathered from, or generated by,
observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or
communication, as a guide to belief and action.

4. Application.

The teacher will divide the class into 5 groups,


each will be given a paper with written scenarios,
they will discuss and decide on what will be the
best thing to do if put in that situation. After the
group discussion, each group will choose a
representative who will be sharing their decision to
the class and why dither choose it as the best thing
to do.

Group 1.

Si Gil ay pumasok ng paaralan na hindi pa


kumakain at wala ding baon, noon oras na ng
meryenda ay nagpalakad-lakad nalang siya sa
hardin ng kanilang paaralan, may nakita siya
pitaka na nagpapaloob ng malaking halaga ng
pera. Ibabalik niya ba ang pitaka o kukunan ng
kahit kunti pangkain niya o hindi niya ibabalik at sa
kanya nalang ang pera.

Group 2.

Nakita mo ay iyong kaibigan na may kodigo


habang kayo ay nagsusulit. Isusumbong mo pero
magagalit siya sayo or hindi siya isusumbong pero
hindi patas ang pagkakaroon niya ng mataas na
marka
Group 3.

Ang matalik mong kaibigan ay naglari lamang ng


kanyang paboritong “online game" na dapat ay
ginagawa niya ang kanyang takdang aralin. Isang
araw bago ang pasahan, nakiusap siya saying na
pakopyahin siya, dahil di niya na kayang sagutan
at kulang na sa oras. Pakokopyahin mo ba siya na
pweding malaman ng guro na nagkooyahan kayo
o hahayaan nalang siya at ang inyong
pagkakaibigan na matapos dahil di mo siya
pinakopya?

Group 4.

Araw-araw nakikita mong may tinutukskng kapwa


mo mag-aaral ng mga mag-aaral din.
Isususmbong mo ba sa guro at maaari na
madamay ka sa gulo o hahayaan nalang kahit
alam mong mali yun.

Generalization.

The teacher will ask the students this following


questions:

1. Have you been in a most difficult situation


where you will give up, either your own
perspective or belief or considering other
people?
2. When you are thinking everything critically,
can you made a decision that is more
acceptable in the event happen?
3. There are problems in life that will test you
and the people around you, will you
choose what’s good for yourself or will you
choose the one who is considerate to
everyone?

IV. Evaluation.

Write True if the statement is true and why, and


false if it is not and why isn’t it false.

1. Thinking critically of things that we decide


will build us to become more mature
individual.
2. In making decision you will only think of
yourself and not of everyone beside you.
3. It is normal to be on a difficult situation
where you will be considering your self
and the people around you.
4. You can just pretend that nothing happens
if you will have this difficult situation.
5. Critical thinking is the objective analysis
and of an issue to form a judgment.
V. Assignment
Research activity.

Find ways or steps on how to do critical thinking in


making decisions.
