Introduction
Chapter One: Reasons Why God Sometimes Delays His Intervention
THE LAST LAUGH
SATANIC EMBARGO
THE BIGGEST SHAME
Therevealed
greatest shame that one can experience is for his nakedness to be
at the end of the age. The book of Revelation tells us that
blessed is he that keeps his garment, so that he will not be put to shame on
that day. We need power to keep away from sin, so that doing the will of
God will become natural.
1 Samuel 11: 1-15 says: "Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and
encamped against Jabesh-gilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto
Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee. And Nahash
the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant
with you, that I may thrust out all gout right eyes, and lay it for a
reproach upon all Israel. And the elders of Jabesh said unto him, Give us
seven days' respite, that we may send messengers unto all the coasts of
Israel: and then, if there be no man to save us, we will come out to thee.
Then came the messengers to Gibeah of Saul, and told the tidings in the
ears of the people: and all the people lifted up their voices, and wept.
And behold, Saul came after the herd out of the field: and Saul said,
What aileth the people that they weep? And they told him the tidings of
the men of Jabesh. And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard
those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly. And he took a yoke of
axen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the coasts
of Israel by the hands of the messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not
forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And
the fear of the Lord fell on the people, and they came out with one
consent, And when he numbered them in Bezek, the children of Israel
were three thousand and the men of Judah thirty thousand. And they
said unto the messengers that came, Thus shall ye say unto the men of
Jabesh-gilead, Tomorrow, by that time the sun be hot, ye shall have help.
And the messengers came and shewed it to the men of Jabesh; and they
were glad. Therefore the men of Jabesh said, Tomorrow we will come out
unto you, and ye shall do with us all that seemeth good unto you. And it
was so on the morrow, that Saul put the people in three companies; and
they came into the midst of the host in the morning watch, and slew the
Ammonites until the heat of the day: and it came to pass, that they which
remained were scattered, so that two of them were not left together. And
the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over
us? bring the men, that we may put them to death. And Saul said, There
shall not a man be put to death this day: for today the Lord hath wrought
salvation in Israel. Then said Samuel to the people, Come and let us go
to Gilgal; and there they made Saul king before the Lord in Gilgal: and
there they sacrificed sacrifices of peace offerings before the Lord; and
there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly."
Nahash the Ammonite had power and he knew it. The people of Jabesh-
gilead belonged to Israel and Nahash belonged to the Ammonites but he
harassed the city of Jabesh-gilead. He threatened to go to war with them,
and they pleaded with him not to kill them. They even offered to make a
treaty with him, but instead, Nahash opted for a covenant that would
involve removing the right eye of everybody in the town.
Nahash the Ammonite did not sit at home or set a trap and wait for it to
catch. He encamped against Jabesh-gilead, just like many people today are
being encamped about by their enemies. This is why it is good to pray that
the camp of your enemies should scatter. Many people that have been
encamped all around by their enemies do not know while some know, but
there is very little they can do about it.
This is how the Bible describes them. So, do not go to such people and
believe you will get genuine help.
Psalm 120:7 equally says, "I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for
war." It is a mistake to look for help in the camp of the enemy. The people
of Jabesh-gilead got into a big trouble as the enemy rejected their offer of
peace. The enemy said, "I will only leave you alone if you allow me to
pluck out your right eyes." It then appeared as if all hope was lost.
Reproach and shame now seemed inevitable. Nahash was determined to
turn the town into a town of one-eyed people. This again is exactly the
case with many people today.
The enemies are rejoicing secretly and making fun of many believers.
They are interested in bringing reproach to believers by employing eaters
of flesh and drinkers of blood. Some of them are even now boasting
openly about their powers and the number of lives they have destroyed.
They are asking you to prove that God is with you. They have prepared
their fire and thrown many people inside. They have completely
surrounded many people and blocked all avenues for solutions. They have
to be spiritually discovered because they are fighting from the spirit
world. They follow many people around like bodyguards. Sometimes, they
locate where the placenta of a person was buried, and with it, they would
start to manipulate the life of the person.
It is very sad but true that a lot of people are being remotely controlled
from their places of birth. The remote controlling power is still there to
manipulate them into open shame. A lot of people are in that great heat of
the enemy. Some do not even understand what is happening to them again.
Some who understand find themselves powerless.
A certain sister told me that somebody came to her in the dream and said,
"Well, if you say you will not stop going to that place where they call the
fire of God, I will make sure that you do not prosper again." Then she
replied, "I will prosper" but forgot to add in the name of Jesus. By the time
she woke up, problem had started.
Some people know those who are responsible for their problems and these
people say, "Well, run we shall pursue you and anywhere you go, we will
be there." They boast openly. A lot of people are in that kind of heat. But it
is time to receive help. It is time for your Nahash to be completely
destroyed. That is the very essence of this book.
PRAYER POINTS
1. The power to hate sin with perfect hatred, fall upon my life, in the
name of Jesus.
2. Let the spirit of eternal shame be put to shame in my life, in the name
of Jesus.
3. I run into the tower of power, in the name of Jesus.
4. I run into the city of solution, in the name of Jesus.
5. Let my breakthroughs locate me and glue themselves to me, in the
name of Jesus.
6. I drink the tonic and vitamin of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.
7. Let every spirit of shame attacking my destiny be put to shame, in the
name of Jesus.
Chapter One
You may be tempted to ask the kind of question that people ask every
time. Why is it that God sometimes allows the heat to come before
bringing help? There are many reasons for this:
1. IT IS A BIG OPPORTUNITY FOR FAITH: You do not need faith
to believe anything that has been done and settled. When a problem is
brewing up, take it that a miracle is brewing up from God as well.
God sometimes allows the heat to get close, then He sorts His
children out in a miraculous way.
2. TO PROVE TO US THAT THE ENEMY DOES NOT HAVE ALL
THE POWER: The devil is not omnipotent. He has some power all
right, but not all the powers. Only Jesus made that unchangeable
statement that "All power, all authority in heaven and on earth have
been given unto me" (Matthew 28: 18).
3. TO MAKE PEOPLE DEVELOP UNSHAKEN CONFIDENCE IN
GOD.
4. TO PROVE THAT GOD NEVER COMES LATE: No matter what
happens, God never comes late. You cannot hurry God, but at the
same time, He will not come late.
5. TO STRENGTHEN FAITH: When God delivers you from a
situation and a similar situation comes again, you will no longer be
afraid. You will be able to face it boldly. If you have never collided
head on with the devil, it means that both of you are walking in the
same direction. But immediately you start to walk in opposite
directions, you will clash with each other.
6. TO TEACH IMPORTANT SPIRITUAL LESSONS: The heat
comes and God takes you out of it. But while you are inside the heat
or close to it, you will learn many things that the Lord wants you to
learn.
7. TO MAKE PEOPLE APPRECIATE THE WORTH OF THEIR
DELIVERANCE: This is to make you appreciate what God has
delivered you from.
God has designed Christians to always have the last laugh. The believer
will always laugh last. Have you ever thought about how God passed Noah
and his family through the flood? Was it not Noah that had the last laugh?
Those who laughed at him and mocked him saying, "This man, you are
just wasting your life in this place. Have you ever seen the rain fall
before? What kind of thing is this? You've been building this ark for 120
years." We must agree that Noah had faith to await something he had not
seen before. Even some people who have been building their houses for 10
years have got fed up and abandoned them. But Noah built the ark for 120
years and had the last laugh.
Why did God pass Abraham through those hot tests? Was it not Abraham
that had the last laugh? Why did God pass Israel through the land of Egypt
and the wilderness? Was it not to make them repose confidence in Him?
Why did God allow Pharaoh to get too close to them? Why did God not
send thunder and blast Pharaoh to pieces before he got that close? It is for
the reasons that I have been telling you.
Why did God allow Saul to give David the hottest chase of his life through
the forest, the wilderness, the rocks, etc. Did it not make David a stronger
man? Why did God allow Daniel to be thrown into the lions' den? Could
He not have sealed up the pit or prevented the event from happening? Do
we not read that story today and rejoice? Does it not teach us that God is a
God of substitution? All those who wanted Daniel killed by the lions,
eventually died by the lions.
Was God sleeping when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown
into the fiery furnace? God was looking at them but did He not turn up
inside the fire and take them out of it? Why was the Lord Jesus Christ led
into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit, only to be tempted there? Why did
Paul, with all his qualifications, physical and spiritual, have to pass
through the horrible voyage on the sea?
Why did God say in Isaiah 43:2: "When thou passest through the waters,
I will be with thee, and through the rivers; they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned, neither
shall the flame kindle upon thee."
God's people know that God has His way in the wind and in the whirlwind.
His people will pass through the rivers, through the waters, and through
the fire, but they will laugh last.
Are you passing through the winds and rivers of adversity now? Do you
have a spiritual Nahash threatening to pluck out your right eye? I have
news for you: God is a specialist at turning up when the heat is high, and
when men have given up on you. God will say, "Now, I can start." Then He
starts His own operation.
When God comes to your aid, your Nahash will scatter. The Bible tells us
that God is not deaf to the cries of His people. "Will God not avenge His
own which cry unto Him day and night? I say unto you, He shall avenge
them" (Luke 18). What happened to Nahash and his host? The Bible says
they were all scattered until two of them could not stay together.
Jacob in the Bible was in so serious a trouble that a powerful hymn writer
lamented about it. He says, "By whom shall Jacob arise, for his enemies
are many. He has few friends, but these few friends are not in agreement."
Then the hymn writer screamed that only the Lord can come to the aid of
Jacob. Nobody can help Jacob.
Any gospel message that lacks the proclamation of deliverance from sin,
poverty, sickness, darkness, satan and his demons is not an authentic
gospel. Unfortunately, present-day Christians are now losing the power,
but that should not be our lot.
The devil plants evil seeds in people and with these, he monitors them
from afar. At one of our prayer meetings, a hefty man who had a good
baritone voice wept like a baby when deliverance was being ministered to
him. It was discovered that his spirit had been chained under a palm tree
since the day he was born and for many years he experienced terrible
failures and disappointments. His friends became his enemies. When he
got a contract, he would have owed so much that another contract would
be needed to offset the debt. So, he was not progressing at all. He did not
know that the day he was born, was the day a Nahash placed satanic
embargo on his life and chained him under a palm tree. He just found out
that he was not making progress so when the baby was released from
under the palm tree by aggressive praying, the scream of a day old baby
began to come out of his mouth.
When prayers get to serious levels, anything can happen. There are a lot of
people like that who are suffering from satanic embargo. They cannot go
beyond a particular level that satan has fixed for them.
SATANIC EMBARGO
The biggest shame is to stand before the throne of God and you are asked,
"How come you did not fulfil your mission?" And you answer, "My wife
was disturbing me," or "My husband did not give me space to breathe" and
they say, "Really, who asked you to marry that man or who asked you to
marry that woman?" And you say, "My father" and they say, "On that note
you are wrong." You may even plead that nobody warned you. And they
would say, "But our records show that you were warned 2,021 times, but
you decided to go ahead." Then you ask if there is any solution and you
will be told, "Sorry, there is no repentance in the grave, you are here, you
are here." God would now say, "Sorry, we don't have your name in this
book, although you were a Christian by name when you were on earth."
The devil and his demons are trying to put Christians to shame by putting
embargoes on their promotions, education, work, finances, health,
marriages, and many other things.
The truth is that the only language the enemy understands is violence. We
are not to settle quarrels with the enemy because God has said, "I will put
enmity between you and the woman, between your seed and her seed. He
shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heels" (Genesis 3:15). So
there is no friendship with the enemy.
PRAYER POINTS
Psalm 16: 10 says, "For thou will not leave my soul in hell neither will
thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption."
WHAT IS DISGRACE?
It is made up of two words: 'dis' and 'gracia'. 'Dis' means out of and 'gracia'
means grace. So, the word disgrace means out of grace.
Many years ago, a man of God went to a village to hold a crusade and as
his practice was, he went to pray on their source of water. As he got to the
small river in the village, with a gentle smile, he said to the people who
had gathered and were clapping and singing, "Well, I want to pray on this
water now. If you know that you are not clean, please don't drink out of it."
He said this twice, prayed on the water and everybody started drinking.
There was a woman there who happened to be a respectable member in the
church. In fact, she was called, "Mother in Israel." First of all, she stood at
the back and did not want to drink. But later, she changed her mind, being
a popular person in the church, because she felt that people would begin to
wonder why she of all persons would not drink out of the water that a
father in the Lord had prayed on. That was her mistake. She drank and
immediately somersaulted, and in the process her clothes were flung open
and people could see that she had a male organ and a female organ as well.
Everybody fled in terror and the man of God smiled again and said, "But I
warned that anyone who was not clean should not drink." God put her to
shame.
SOURCES OF SHAME
The Bible makes us to understand that shame can come from God, it can
come from satan, and can also come from man. Shame can come from
false satanic judgment. The devil can judge a person and declare him
guilty even when he is not, in order to put him to shame. Unless this kind
of thing is properly dealt with, it can bring a person down.
At this juncture, I would like you to say, "I reject disgrace, in the name of
Jesus.''
Jeremiah 3: 24 says, "For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers
from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their
daughters."
So, shame can devour the labour of a person. This powerful emotion called
shame is a great weapon in the hand of the enemy and he likes to use it on
people and places. The terrible thing about it is that it hits people from the
inside and destroys them internally.
It could eat away the confidence of a person. It can disable and amputate a
person completely and make him ineffective in the service of the Lord. To
be mighty in faith and in the Holy Spirit, you must confront the spirit of
shame and defeat it.
PRAYER POINTS
1. I destroy every evil remote controlling power fashioned against my
life (when you say this once, begin to repeat), "be destroyed", in the
name of Jesus.
2. Let every evil meeting summoned against me, scatter, in the name of
Jesus.
3. My Jacob must-become Israel today, in the name of Jesus.
4. Evil conspirators, be disbanded, in the name of Jesus.
5. Progress arresters, be arrested, in the name of Jesus.
6. Quenchers of good fire, be disbanded, in the name of Jesus.
7. Deeply rooted problems, be uprooted, in the name of Jesus.
Chapter Three
DIFFERENT KINDS OF SHAME
Therepent,
shame that comes from God can be handled with God. When you
the Lord will forgive you and remove the shame from you. But
the one that the enemy plans must be confronted and dealt with.
Proverbs 3:35 says, "The wise shall inherit glory: but sham shall be the
promotion of fools."
So, foolish living and actions that are not prudent will bring disgrace.
Proverbs 10:5 says, "He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he
that sleepeth in a harvest is a son that causeth shame."
Proverbs 11:2 says, "When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with
the lowly is wisdom."
Proverbs 13:18 says, "Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth
instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured."
Proverbs 18:13 says, "He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it
is folly and shame unto him" That is speaking before you listen and think.
Proverbs 29:15 says, "The rod and reproof give wisdom but a child left to
himself bringeth his mother to shame."
So, parents who allow their children to rear themselves, who shirk their
responsibilities as fathers and mothers are courting shame.
Genesis 3:9-10: "And the Lard God called unto Adam, and said unto
him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I
was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself."
Shame and nakedness are accompanied by fear. So, shame is a spirit on its
own and an embodiment of some other powerful agents.
Is there something that frightens you? Is there something you are afraid
may be discovered? Adam hid himself because he was afraid. Do you
avoid certain issues because you are afraid of being discovered? Or may
be the spirit of shame is whispering to your ears that you area failure?
Those spirits that say, "Well, don't let anybody see you and find out about
this one, just cover it up," are the spirits of shame.
FAMILY SHAME
Many times, failure to get ahead financially can be traced to the sins of
one's forefathers. A curse on a family can produce an inheritance of
shame. Alcoholics are people heavily loaded with shame. Sometimes, by
the time the spirit of disgrace and shame is sent upon a person, other
things like alcoholism and confusion will set in. Eventually, the victim
ends up messing himself up in the street.
A certain girl was put in the family way. The father woke her up one
morning and asked her who was responsible for the preganancy and she
said, "Joshua." "Where does Joshua live?" her father asked. She told him
and he asked her to take him there. They went to the house of Joshua and
he came out smoking Indian hemp. He asked the father and the daughter
what they wanted and the father said, "This girl said that you were the one
who got her pregnant." He removed the Indian hemp, looked at the man's
face and said, "I hope you are not mad?" He further said to the old man, "I
don't know this girl. I have not seen her anywhere. If you don't clear out
from this place, I will use cutlass on you." The man and his daughter went
away in shame. He kept on asking the girl if she was sure she did anything
with the man called Joshua. The girl told him there was another man too
who had an affair with her. They went to his house and knocked at the
door. He came out and asked them what they wanted. The father asked him
if he was the one that put his daughter in the family way. The man looked
at him and said, "Daddy, this your daughter has no home training. It is true
that I was involved but I know about four others." He turned to the girl and
said, "Is it true?" The girl could not talk. She told the father that there was
still another one living somewhere. But by now, the father was totally
ashamed. The girl was used to bring shame upon that family.
The spirit of shame can stop a person from becoming a victorious soldier.
Perhaps there is something in your past which is continually troubling you
and you feel that if you expose it, it will totally demolish your world. You
have to seek deliverance from the spirit of shame.
Psalm 109:29 says, "Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let
them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle."
Here, the Psalmist is using the same weapon of shame against the enemy.
Psalm 35:4 says, "Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek
after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that
devise my hurt."
Again, the Psalmist is using the weapon of shame to fight the enemy.
Psalm 31:17 says, "Let me not be ashamed, O Lord; for I have called
upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the
grave."
Again, the same weapon against the enemy. There are so many other
passages like that.
Shame promotes frustration that is why the enemy uses it. And when
shame is backed up with a curse, it can bring dishonour, confusion and
poverty. That is why parents should not say to their children, "Shame on
you." It is a powerful curse never to be issued on young children. If you
have seen the demon of shame before, you will not ask it to come on
anybody apart from your spiritual enemies.
PRAYER POINTS
So, Jesus had already borne shame for us, that is why we can react to it.
Let us look at the example of one man in the Bible that the enemy tried to
disgrace.
Acts 28:1 says, "And when they were escaped, they knew that the Island
was called Melita,"
Paul was already in the ship with other prisoners and the captain of the
ship who was a Roman soldier. He had told them before they travelled that,
"Sirs, I perceive that this journey will be very hazardous, not only for our
luggage, but for our lives also" (Acts 27:10). But they took him for a
common prisoner and did not listen to him. They ran into a storm in the
midst of the sea and problems started. For two weeks, they could not eat.
They threw all their luggage into the sea. After two weeks, Paul stood up
and said, "Men and brethren, I told you this before it happened. Now you
can see for yourselves. However, the angel of the Lord whom I serve,
stood by me tonight and said none of us shall perish. Take food and eat."
They still could not eat. Then he broke bread and started to eat in their
presence. Then the prisoner became the controller of the ship. They
eventually got into this Island called Melita. But by the time they got
there, their ship was broken to pieces. They escaped to the Island on
planks of wood, after spending many days on the sea.
Verses 2-10 say, "And the barbarous people showed us no little kindness,
for they kindled a fire and received us every one, because of the present
rain, and because of the cold. And when Paul had gathered a bundle of
sticks and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and
fastened on his hand. And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast
hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a
murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance
suffereth not to live. (They knew that they were prisoners and were
surprised that in spite of all the suffering they had gone through on the sea,
a viper still attacked him. So, they concluded that he must have been an
evil person). And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
(You too shall shake off the viper of disgrace, in Jesus' name. Those vipers
were so bad and terrible that they fed on scorpions. They knew that
anybody who was bitten by them would soon swell up and die). Howbeit,
they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly:
but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him,
they changed their minds, and said that he was a god. In the same
quarters were possessions of the chief man of the Island whose name
was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously. And
it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a
bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on
him, and healed him. So when this was done, others also, which had
diseases in the island, came, and were healed. Who also honoured us
with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such
things as were necessary."
Look at what satan planned at the end of the book of the Acts of the
apostles against apostle Paul. He planted defeat and death for him. He
planned to terminate and disgrace Paul. How can it be said that a viper
killed the man who raised the dead. The devil has a hidden viper of
disgrace within the woods to bite the believer. Satan could hide his viper
as you go about your daily duty.
There was a viper in the life of Gehazi. Although, he was studying to be a
prophet, a viper was lying down there until Naaman came. Naaman
thought that prophet Elisha would come out and pray some fire prayers for
him. But Elisha did not come out. He just said his servant should tell him
to go to River Jordan and dip himself there seven times and he shall be
made whole. He went, though hesitantly, and dropped his leprosy in
Jordan.
Beloved, we must be very careful. The spirit of leprosy that left Naaman
stayed in the waters waiting for the next candidate. Please take this
following prayer point: "I will not carry any evil luggage, in Jesus' name."
The Bible makes it very clear that there are arrows that are flying about,
and destruction and pestilence that are walking around. There are
accidents waiting to happen all over the place. Pray that you will not be a
part of it, in Jesus' name.
Naaman offered some gifts to Elisha but he refused to accept them. But
immediately, the viper of disgrace in the life of Gehazi came out and he
collected the gifts secretly from Naaman. When he came back, he tried to
deceive the prophet, but the prophet said, "Did I not follow you in the
spirit when you went outside. Is this the time to receive gifts?" Meaning
that there is a time to receive gifts and a time to reject them. Why did God
not want Elisha to receive that gift? It was because the Syrians were idol
worshippers and everything they brought to the land of Israel was polluted
stuff. Gehazi went for it and the prophet said to him, "Well, since you have
done this, instead of getting the double portion that I got from my master
Elijah, the leprosy of Naaman shall cleave unto you." And unfortunately,
he did not stop there, he also said, "And unto your offspring." So, it is
possible that some of the lepers we see now are descendants of Gehazi.
The prosperity of Naaman gave rise to the leprosy of Gehazi. We must be
very careful. Gehazi's viper came out and put him in trouble. When the
viper of disgrace is inside the life of a Christian, he will become history
while he is still living.
Your own viper could be the viper of arrogance, pride, or strife, hidden
inside you. Many fell and never rose again and the devil came to their
funeral ceremony and rendered songs.
One of the best prophets that God has ever sent to Nigeria was a victim of
the viper. When you talk about prophetic anointing, it is Wcult to find an
equal of that fellow. He was so good that if you brought a mad man before
him, and his problem was demonic, this prophet would tell you what area
of the body haboured the evil materials troubling him and before your
eyes, he would call them out, collect and throw them away. They would
appear physically and instantly the mad man would be jumping up and
rejoicing. He exhibited the power of God anywhere he went. But he had a
viper which was women. Eventually, he was completely messed up. When
he died, there was no pastor at his burial. It was the work of the viper of
disgrace.
There was also a certain woman whose husband was a very powerful
evangelist. Before they commenced a crusade, she would lead praise
worship and miracles would be happening even before the man of God
came on stage. All of a sudden, the woman started sleeping with their
landlord who was a moslem. Before you knew it, she travelled to Mecca.
The viper of disgrace in her life had come to the surface. No wonder the
Bible says, "Let him that thinketh he stand, take heed lest he falls."
What a bad testimony for people to say that Brother so, so and so who was
on fire for God before is now smoking and drinking. What a bad testimony
to say that Sister so, so and so was on fire for God once, but fell into sin
and ran away with another woman's husband. That is why the following
prayer point is a very important one: "My enemies will not write the last
chapter of my life, in the name of Jesus."
Our olden days fathers in the Lord used to ask us to pray in those days that
God should make us wiser than the devil, because the man you are wiser
than cannot deceive you.
The devil carefully selected the audience before whom he wanted to
disgrace Paul. Paul's captors were there, the Roman soldiers, other
prisoners like himself and the Barbarians of the island of Melita, and Dr.
Luke who followed him were all there. Those he had prepared to
demonstrate the power of God to were also there.
It is amazing sometimes how satan plans the places and the kind of people
before whom he wants to disgrace the people of God. He plotted to
disgrace Samson before the same Philistines whom God had used him to
disgrace. Unfortunately, he succeeded.
The Barbarians at the Island of Melita had concluded that Paul was a
murderer. That was the kind of testimony satan wanted to write about Paul.
But the satanic audience became the same audience before whom satan
was disgraced. The devil now lost the Island altogether to Paul and to God.
The viper of disgrace lost the battle and Paul overcame. Satan may
assemble the worst of men to disgrace the child of God. But certainly, God
knows how to turn the game of the devil against him. The viper of disgrace
must lose the baffle and the satanic audience must glorify God, in Jesus'
name.
We have to shake off the evil viper. The weapon of disgrace which the
enemy planned against Paul eventually became the doom of the enemy.
The same sword of Goliath was used to cut off the head of Goliath. The
Red Sea that was supposed to disgrace the Israelites was the same Red Sea
that disgraced the Egyptians. The weapon of disgrace fashioned against
you by your enemies shall disgrace them, in the name of Jesus.
WAY OUT
Once the weapon of shame is being used against you, all you need to do is
to repent, confess your own sins, break the curse and seek deliverance. If
somebody decides to remove you from what you are doing to feed
yourself, and you have not done anything wrong, you can react to it.
The enemy is always seeking to disgrace God's people. He disgraced
Adam and Eve. He caused them to be driven out of the garden. He
disgraced Cain and a curse was put on him. He disgraced Reuben and he
lost his inheritanee. He disgraced Moses and he could not enter into the
Promised land. He almost disgraced Joseph but he escaped. He disgraced
Saul and completely disgraced Samson who died with his enemies.
But the promise of God for us is in Romans 9:33 which says, "As it is
written, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and a rock of offence: and
whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."

Chapter Five
WHEN MOCKERS SURROUND YOU
2 Kings chapter 2:11-15 says, "And it came to pass, as they still went on,
and talked, that behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of
fire and parted them both asunder, and Elijah went up by a whirlwind
into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the
chariot of Israel and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more,
and he took hold of his own clothes and rent them in two pieces. He took
up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and went back and stood
by the bank of Jordan. And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from
him and smote the waters and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah?
And when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither,
and Elisha went over. And when the sons of the prophets which were to
view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on
Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground
before him."
You would have thought that this action was completely genuine but
Elisha was to find himself in the company of mockers.
Verses 16-17 say: "And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy
servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master:
lest peradventure the Spirit of the Lord hath taken him up, and cast him
upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
And when they urged him till he wars ashamed, he said, Send. They sent
therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not."
What do you do, when everyone is laughing at you? What do you do when
people are mocking you? What do you do when people are asking you to
forsake holiness in order to look like them? What do you do when people
are telling you, "Who do you really think you are?" What do you do when
people are telling you, "Who asked you to marry this person?" What do
you do when people are telling you, "You are taking this your Christianity
too far." What do you do when those who are mocking you are larger in
number than those who are praising you?
What do you do when those who are waiting for you to fail are more than
those who want you to succeed? What do you do when people have already
concluded that you are finished? What do you do when you can see joy in
the face of the enemy that you have failed? What do you do when the
enemy is already jubilating about your condition? What do you do when
your sole supporter is gone? What do you do when you begin to notice that
the last time you were a blessing to someone they chased you out? What
do you do when they broadcast your name for evil? What do you do when
your sole helper is gone?
What do you do when the enemy has issued a death sentence upon you?
What do you do when you discover that the attack you had in the dream is
beginning to manifest physically? What do you do when a satanic
audience waiting for your downfall surrounds you? What do you do when
a viper has attached itself to your hand, like it did to Paul, in order to kill
you? What do you when the going has become difficult? What do you do
when you find that your funds are low and your debts are mounting?
What do you do when you are confronting your own Jordan? What do you
do when people are saying that you cannot get out of the mess you find
yourself? What do you do when you have to either have a breakthrough or
you are finished? What do you do when you find that you must get out of
your situation or everything would end?
What do you do when you have an array of mockers in your family and
they are waiting for your downfall? What do you do when experts have
looked at you and said that you cannot make it? What do you do when you
find that your hands are too short to box the kind of enemies facing you?
What do you do when you have come to your wit's end? What do you do
when all your friends forsake you and you are alone? What do you do
when you find that there is a pattern that anybody you help will eventually
turn against you? What do you do when unbelievers are saying that you
should show them the God you serve?
You must understand that you are not alone in any of these positions.
Many men and women of God have arrived at exactly this kind of situation
and they uttered their battle cry. Here was Elisha at the River Jordan. The
sons of the prophets who were theologians, watched and saw that his boss
had gone, but they did not believe that he had really gone. What do you do
when you are in the midst of this kind of audience? What do you do when
you are like Paul: immediately you begin to warm yourself in the fire, a
viper jumps on your hand.
There is something that you can do today; you can call on the God of
Elijah, as Elisha did. And when he did, things began to happen. The God of
Elijah appeared on the scene and the mockers of Elisha were put to shame.
PRAYER POINTS
There was also a man called Naaman, the captain of the Syrian Army, a
prime minister in his country who went to see Prophet Elisha because he
had leprosy. When he arrived at the prophet's place, he faced the greatest
provocation and insult that you can ever give to a prime minister. In spite
of the fact that Elisha the prophet was informed of Naaman's visit, he did
not as much as bother to come out and see him to know what he looked
like. He simply sent a message to him to go and dip himself in River
Jordan seven times and he would be made whole. Naaman felt insulted. He
thought that at least, Elisha would have come out to see him. He
wondered: could he not have sent him to a good river in his country
instead of the dirty river Jordan. Nevertheless, God intervened and
Naarnan moved from insult to result.
THE CANAANITE WOMAN
Matthew 15:21-28 says, "Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the
coast of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of
the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord,
thou Son of David, my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he
answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him
saying, Send her away: for she crieth after us. But he answered and said,
I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came
she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and
said, It is not meet to take the children's bread and to cast it to dogs. And
she said, Truth, Lord; yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from
their master's table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman,
great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was
made whole from that very hour."
This woman was actually called a dog but she admitted it was the truth and
refused to feel insulted. The same Jesus turned her sorrow to joy and she
moved from mockery to miracles and from insult to result.
DISCOURAGEMENT
The first thing they overcame was discouragement. One serious barrier
that can stop a man from moving from mockery to miracles and from
insult to result is discouragement. When you are discouraged, it means
you are dissatisfied with the past and distrusting the future. Some people
say, "I have been coming to church for a long time and I am tired, they will
not see me here again." The truth is that, it may be the day you refuse to
come that heaven will bring your gift and you will be nowhere to be found.
DANGERS OF DISCOURAGEMENT
Discouragement makes you an ingrate of the blessings of yesterday.
Discouragement makes you indifferent to the opportunity of today.
Discouragement makes a person to exercise insecurity about the
strength of tomorrow.
Discouragement is a devastating element for those who are looking
for signs, wonders, miracles and the supernatural.
Discouragement is a sin because it is unbelief and an insult to God.
When discouragement sets in, the person becomes immature in
thinking and impatient with time.
ANGER
Eli insulted Hannah but she refused to be angry and therefore defeated the
battle the enemy had prepared at the gate of her testimony. Jesus said to
that woman, "This thing is meant for the children and not dogs like you."
The woman ought to have been angry because of what the Messiah said
but she focused on her situation and her miracle appeared. The Bible says,
"Be angry but sin not" (Ephesians 4:26). That is, direct your anger to sin
and not human beings or situations.
The truth is that patience in one moment of anger can release you from
fifty years of sorrow. Every time you get angry, you are actually poisoning
your system. Whatever started in anger must end with regrets. By the time
anger finishes with a person, he or she would become a human rag. Anger
is a faithful mother of many unhappy and faithless children. If it is in your
life, you need to baffle and kill it. You need to padlock your mouth and kill
the anger stillborn.
UNBELIEF
The third thing they defeated was unbelief. Jesus told that woman, "Great
is thy faith for I have not found such a faith in Israel."
HOLY DESPERATION
Another thing that was common with these three people is holy
desperation. They prayed desperate prayers. Hannah prayed in desperation
and desperation does not care about what anyone is thinking. Just like
blind Bartirnaeus did not care about what people were saying, the
Canaanite woman did not also care about what the disciples of Jesus were
saying.
If you have decided to give your life to Christ, make the following
confession: "Father Lord, I come before you now. I acknowledge that I am
a sinner. Forgive me O Lord and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. As
from today, I renounce the devil and surrender my life to the Lord Jesus
Christ. Come into my life O Lord, and take absolute control. Thank you
Lord for saving me, in Jesus' name I pray.

in the name of Jesus.
6. Every witchcraft cage holding my blessings, break, in the name of
Jesus.
7. I recover by fire, all my stolen blessings, in the name of Jesus.
