Growth Mindset
Growth Mindset
Your mindset influences how you make sense of the world and how you make sense
of yourself. It can be considered as the lens through which you interpret your
experiences.
A growth mindset is the belief that abilities and intelligence can be developed
through dedication and hard work, creating a love for learning and resilience that is
essential for great accomplishment.
A fixed mindset, on the other hand, is the belief that intelligence and abilities are
static traits and cannot be significantly developed, leading to a desire to appear
smart rather than embracing challenges and learning from them.
When inevitable challenges and failures arise from the pursuit of a goal, your
response to a challenge or failure is what dictates your chance of success.
Students with a growth mindset will aim to accept and embrace these difficulties.
They will also tend to be more proactive by reflecting and adjusting their processes.
Students with a fixed mindset will aim to avoid these difficulties in the first place.
When faced with difficulty, students with a fixed mindset will try to mitigate their
difficulties. As a result, they are not able to achieve the goals they set out for
themselves. This is because they are constantly pulling away from the inevitable
struggle and difficulty associated with achieving their goals .

reflection, you won’t get as much benefit! Below is an example of a good reflection
and a bad reflection.
