NOTE:
1. All the photographs submitted with the application must be exactly identical. Otherwise,
Hall Tickets will not be issued. Such applications will be summarily rejected.
2. Candidates will not be allowed to submit their online application after the due date.
3. Candidates will not be allowed into the Examination hall after 09.00 AM for morning
session and will not be permitted to leave the hall before 12.00 NOON for Morning
session.

4. The TS ECET- 2024 test will be conducted in ONLINE mode only.
5. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that he / she answer the correct
Question Paper of the branch for which he / she has applied.
6. The Question paper will be in English only.
1. General:
This is a common application form for appearing at the Telangana State Engineering Common
Entrance Test for Diploma candidates & B.Sc.(Mathematics) Degree candidates TS ECET [FDH &
B.Sc.(Mathematics)]–2024 for lateral entry into B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharm. courses in the State of
Telangana. Before filling the application form, candidates are required to go through the
information contained in this booklet which gives the requirements for appearing at TS ECET [FDH
& B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2024. The G.O.s issued earlier to conduct ECET before state bifurcation
are adapted to conduct TS ECET - 2024 by the Government of Telangana State according to G.O.
Ms. No. 33 dated 31.12.2014.
2. Entrance Test:
A Common Entrance Test designated in full as Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance
Test for Diploma candidates and for B.Sc.(Mathematics) Degree candidates and in short as TS
ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2024 will be conducted by JNT University Hyderabad on behalf
of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education for the academic year 2024-2025 in accordance
with G.O.Ms.No:24 Education (EC) Department dated:18.03.2004, G.O.Ms.No:25,
dated:28.06.2006 and G.O.Ms.No:19, dated: 02.02.2008 for Diploma Holders and G.O.Ms.No.57
(EC2) dated:12.05.2008 & G.O.Ms. No. 58 (EC2) dated: 12.05.2008 for B.Sc.(Mathematics)
degree holders, G.O. Ms. No. 15 (EC) dated:18.8.2014.
(i) Lateral entry admissions through common entrance test into 2nd year regular B.E. / B.Tech.
Courses approved by All India Council for Technical Education & University in University
colleges and Affiliated Engineering colleges (Minority & Non-Minority) in the State of
Telangana.
and
(ii) For lateral entry admissions through Common Entrance Test into 2nd year Regular
B. Pharmacy Course in both University and private professional institutions (Minority & Non
-Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India.
Note: B.Sc. (Mathematics) degree holders are not eligible for admission into B. Pharmacy
Course.

Test Details:
The Entrance Test is of three hours duration and Question Paper consists of total 200
questions as per Pattern of entrance Test. All questions will be objective type (Multiple choice
only). Each question carries one mark. Timings of the Test for Morning Session is from 09.00
AM to 12.00 NOON for (ECE, EIE, CSE, EEE, CIV,CHE, MEC, MIN, MET, PHM, BSM) on
06-05-2024.
TS ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2024 syllabus in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
and Engineering specialization is furnished for diploma candidates. Syllabus for Pharmacy is
provided separately. Syllabus in Mathematics, Analytical Ability and Communicative
English is furnished for B.Sc.(Mathematics) degree candidates.

Note:
1. During the ONLINE submission of TS ECET-2024 Application form the candidates are informed to select
the required Test Zone of his/her choice.
2. The allocation of Test Zone will be based on First cum First Registration basis.
3. The Chairman, TS ECET-2024 reserves the right to add or delete any Center and allot candidates to test
Center accordingly. The Center allotted by the Chairman, TS ECET-2024 is final. No request for change of
Center will be entertained under any circumstances.

4. Eligibility to appear for the Entrance Test:
Candidates should satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for appearing at the
TS ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)] - 2024 for lateral entry admission through Common
Entrance Test into 2nd year regular B.E./ B.Tech. courses approved by All India Council for
Technical Education for both University and Un-aided Private Professional Institutions
(Minority & Non- Minority) and for lateral entry admission through Common Entrance Test into 2 nd
year Regular B.Pharmacy Courses in both University and Private Un-Aided Professional
Institutions (Minority & Non-Minority) approved by Pharmacy Council of India.
(i) They should be of Indian Nationality.
(ii) They should belong to the State of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh. The candidates should
satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational
Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended. The same is
adapted to the State of Telangana vide G.O. Ms. No. 33 dated 31.12.2014.
(iii) They should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Pharmacy from the State
Board of Technical Education of Telangana State / Andhra Pradesh or any other Diploma
recognized by the Government of Telangana / Andhra Pradesh as equivalent there to for
admission into the relevant B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharmacy courses as given in the Annexure.

They should have passed the 3-year B.Sc. Degree Examination with Mathematics as one of the
subjects in the group combination from a recognized University in the Telangana / Andhra
Pradesh state or its equivalent for entry into relevant courses as given in the Annexure.
NOTE: Candidates appearing for qualifying examination in the academic year 2023-2024 are also
eligible. They have to submit the qualifying certificate with required percentage of marks at the
time of admission.
(iv) Candidates who are pursuing a Diploma course under sandwich pattern shall be eligible for
entry into the relevant B.E / B.Tech. / B.Pharmacy courses provided they have completed the
practical training for the sandwich course before completion of counseling for Admissions.
(v) Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy or B.Sc.
(Mathematics) Degree as the case may be with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates
belonging to reserved category) for entry into relevant courses. Candidates should have
appeared and qualified at the TS ECET - 2024. Mere appearance at the Entrance Test does not
automatically entitle a candidate to be considered for entry into any course unless the candidate
satisfies the requirements of eligibility and other criteria laid down in the rules of admission.
Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the
remaining 15% of the seats shall be un-reserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh
Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
The same is adapted to the State of Telangana vide G.O. Ms. No. 33 dated 31.12.2014.

5. EXPLANATION OF LOCAL AND NON-LOCAL CANDIDATES:
The Local Candidate means:
(A) A candidate for admission shall be regarded as a local candidate in relation to a Local Area:
(a) If he/she has studied in educational Institution or educational Institutions in such local
area for a period of not less than four consecutive academic years ending with the
academic year in which he/she appeared or as the case may be, first appeared in the
relevant qualifying examination,
(or)
(b) Where, during the whole or any part of the four consecutive academic years ending with the
academic year in which he/she appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the
relevant qualifying examination, he/she has not studied in any educational Institutions, if
he/she has resided in that local area for a period of not less than four years immediately
preceding the date of commencement of the relevant qualifying examination in which
he/she appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared.
(B) A Candidate for admission into the Course who is not regarded as local candidate
under Clause (A) in relation to any local area shall,
(a) If he/she has studied in educational Institutions in the State for a period of not less than
seven consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he/she
appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination be
regarded as a local candidate in relation to,
(i) Such local area where he/she has studied for the maximum period out of said period
of seven years, or
(ii) Where the period of his/her study in two or more local areas are equal, such local
area, where he/she has studied last in such equal period,
OR
(b) If, during the whole or any part of seven consecutive academic years ending with the
academic year in which he/she appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the
relevant qualifying examination, he/she has not studied in the educational Institutions in
any local area, but has resided in the State during the whole of the said period of seven
years, be regarded as a local candidate in relation to,
(i) Such local area where he/she has resided for the maximum period out of the said
period of seven years,
OR
(ii) Where the periods of his/her residence in two or more local areas are equal, such local
area where he/she has resided last in such equal periods.
(C) The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply for admission to the remaining
15% of un-reserved seats:
(a) All the candidates eligible to be declared as local candidates.
(b) Candidates who have resided in the State for a total period of 10 years excluding periods
of study outside the State or either of whose parents have resided in the State for a total
period of ten years excluding period of employment outside the State.
(c) Candidates who are children of parents who are in the employment of this State or Central

Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and other similar quasi-
public Institutions, within the State.
(d) Candidates who are spouses of those in the employment of the State or Central
Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities and Educational
Institutions recognized by the Government or University OR other competent authority
and similar quasi Government Institutions within the State.

1. For admission into B.E / B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering and its allied branches
(AI,AID,AIM,CIC,CME,CS,CSA,CSB,CSC,CSD,CSE,CSG,CSI,CSM,CSN,CSO,CST,CSW,ECM,INF) first preference will be given to candidates who

the time of admission based on the Telangana Government Orders FOR THE Academic year 2024-25 (Lateral entry admission).

However, in all the cases, candidate shall fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down in the relevant G.Os / Amendments / Notifications to be issued from time to time.

The following order of preference shall be observed in considering Diploma Candidates for
admission into various courses:
(i) For admission into Degree programme in Information Technology, first preference will be given
to candidates who have obtained the Diploma in Information Technology. Any seats still vacant
shall be filled with candidates who have obtained their Diploma in any branch of Engineering /
Technology on the basis of their integrated merit ranking.
(ii) For admission into Degree programme in Textile Technology, candidates who have obtained
their Diploma in Textile Technology (Design & Manufacturing) and Textile Technology (Knitting)
must necessarily have completed their Intermediate or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics
and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
(iii) Diploma candidates of Special Diploma course in Industrial Electronics & Instrumentation
Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering have to appear for TS ECET [FDH &
B.Sc.(Mathematics)]- 2024 Examination in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) for
admission into Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) course. However, in all the
cases, candidate shall fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid down in the relevant G.Os/
Amendments / Notifications to be issued at the time of admissions.
The qualifying percentage marks for obtaining a rank in TS ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-
2024 is 25% of the aggregate marks in the four subjects (three subjects for B.Sc. Mathematics)
i.e., 50 marks out of a total of 200. However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, there shall be no
minimum qualifying marks for ranking the candidates. The rank obtained with the benefit of
relaxation of the minimum qualifying marks at the TS ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2024
by any candidate claiming to belong to SC/ST category will be cancelled in case the claim is
found to be invalid at the time of admission.
(i) The student will be ranked (Integrated Merit Rank) based on the marks obtained by
him/her in the TS ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2024 Examination.
(ii) Every care will be taken to avoid errors in valuation, checking, scrutiny, tabulation and
ranking. Hence, request for re-totaling, revaluation or personal identification of
anything related to Online Examination will in no case be entertained. Candidates
will be ranked in the order of merit in TS ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2024
separately in each branch of Engineering Course.
(iii) As per G.O. Ms. No. 58 dated: 12-05-2008, for admission into B.E. / B. Tech in
Information Technology, first preference will be given to candidates who have obtained
the diploma in Information Technology. Any seats still vacant shall be filled with
candidates who have obtained their Diploma in any branch of Engineering / Technology
on the basis of their integrated merit ranking obtained in TS ECET [FDH &
B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2024.
(iv) As per G.O. Ms. No. 58 dated: 12-05-2008, for admission into B.E./ B.Tech in

Computer Science and Engineering, first preference will be given to candidates who
have obtained the diploma in Computer Science & Engineering. Any seats still vacant
shall be filled with candidates who have obtained their Diploma in any branch of
Engineering / Technology on the basis of their integrated merit ranking obtained in
TS ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2024. The Integrated Merit Rank is based on the
total marks obtained in TS ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2024 by candidates with
Diploma in any branch of Engineering/Technology.
1. Any malpractice case will be dealt with as per rules of CETs in force.
3. Any litigation concerning TS ECET [FDH & B.Sc.(Mathematics)]-2024 shall be within the
jurisdiction of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad only.
