GUJARAT TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Bachelor/Master of Engineering Syllabus

Subject Code : 3170502
Subject Name : Process Equipment Design

WEF Academic Year: 2023-24

Semester: VII
Category of the Course: Professional Core course

Prerequisite : Basics of Unit operations and Unit processes

Rationale : Equipment design encompasses the process of defining all the size-related
parameters of the equipment, such as diameter, length, and other relevant
dimensions. Additionally, it entails the calculation of the appropriate thickness
and the estimation of the weight of various components within the equipment.
Due to the rapidly advancing state of knowledge, it becomes crucial for
students aspiring to become Design Engineers, Process Engineers, or Process
Development Engineers to stay well-informed about the latest developments in
equipment design. This subject knowledge is indispensable for their career
pursuits.
