Digital Citizenship Presentation

Project Description:
Overview
You have been hired to create a new Digital Curriculum for Grades 6-12 at the Big Dipper School. For each lesson it has
been determined you will create a meme to serve as an introduction to one of the 9 aspects of Digital Citizenship.
An Internet meme, more commonly known simply as a meme, is an idea, behavior, image, or style that is spread via the
Internet, often through social media platforms.
To support your understanding of the aspects of Digital Citizenship and demonstrate your learning, you will create a
meme for three of the nine aspects of digital citizenship and write a Strong Paragraph for each.

Task Create a PowerPoint or Canva Presentation that covers 3 aspects of Digital Citizenship.

For each aspect of Digital Citizenship, you will:

1. Create an original meme that is:
 Relevant - Ensure that your image is clearly connected to your idea and that your caption
complements the image and captures the intended message.
 Conciseness - Aim for concise and clear caption that gets right to the point.
 Humor - Use witty and clever humor to draw in viewers and keep them engaged.
 Originality - If you use a template that is popular and well-known, add your own spin to
the caption or to how you use the image.
2. Explain the meme by writing a Strong Paragraph to the following prompt:
 Topic: What digital citizenship aspect do you want to communicate and what (in your
own words) does that mean?
 Details/Elaboration: What is the best practice viewers should follow? How does your
meme show this?
 Connection: What is the next step you want your audience to take?

Each slide of your presentation should contain both the meme and the paragraph.

Examples of Digital Citizenship Aspects Memes

Directions: Consider whether each meme is effective or not in its message? If not, what revisions could be made?
Memes meant to entertain must still present some nuanced aspect of digital citizenship in a thoughtful way.
