Abbreviations used in this pattern:
● Mr - magic ring
● Ch - chain
● Sc – single crochet
● dc - double crochet
● dc2tog – 2 double crochet cluster
● dc4tog – 4 double crochet cluster
● Sl st – slip stitch
● St(s) - stitch (es)
Gauge:
Depending on which size you are making you will have to use a different crochet hook.
The measurement of one square in diagonal is giving us the final measurement of the top.
● With 2.5 mm crochet hook (for size M) one square has 12 cm diagonal.
● With 3 mm crochet hook (for size Large) one square gas 13 cm diagonal.
● With 3.5 mm crochet hook (for size S) one square has 14 cm diagonal.
I would say that this Bloom Fringe Top is not that difficult. It’s made from squares and one
square has only 4 rows. The squares are joined as you go and you will not need to sew them
together. For assembling this top you will only need whole squares.

About the stitch pattern
As I said one square only has 4 rows. The stitches we are using for the square are mainly
double crochet clusters of 2 or 4 double crochets.
What is a cluster?
A cluster is a group of stitches worked together.

Final Measurements
This pattern is available in 3 sizes: Small, Medium and Large. Because we are working with
squares and we don’t have to many options to join them to make a top shape, you will have to
use a different size crochet hook, for each size, to get the desired measurements.
Below you will find the diagrams with the bust circumference of the top which you will use to
know how you have to join the squares:
Pattern Notes:

We will start with one square and then start making the other ones and join them together
following the diagram above.
Round 1
Make a magic ring and ch 3, 3 dc, ch 3, [4 dc, ch 3] – repeat the section between [ ] 3 times,
Sl st in the 3rd st of the starting ch. Pull the yarn to close the magic ring.
Round 2
Ch 3, dc3tog on the top of the 3 dc from the previous round, ch 3.
In the 3 ch space from the previous round (dc2 cluster, ch 3, dc2 cluster), ch 3, [dc4tog, ch 3,
(dc2tog, ch 3, dc2tog, ch 3)] – repeat 2 more times to the end of the round. Sl st with the 3rd st
of the starting ch.
Round 3
Ch 1, 1 sc in the next st (the joining st of the cluster from the previous round), ch 3, [dc2tog, ch
3] – repeat 3 more times in same ch3 from previous round (4 dc2tog in total), [1 sc in the next
st, ch 3, [dc2 tog, ch 3] 4 times] repeat 2 more times to the end of the round. Sl st with the ch 1
from beginning.

Round 4
Ch 1, 1 sc in the same st. Ch 5, 1 sc in the next ch 3 space, ch 5, 1 sc in the next ch 3 space, ch
5, 1 sc in the next space, ch 7, 1 sc in the same space, ch 5, 1 sc in the next space, [(Ch 5, 1 sc
in the next space)× 2, ch 5, 1 sc in the next ch 3 space, ch 5, 1 sc in the next space, ch 7, 1 sc
in the same space, ch 5, 1 sc in the next space] × 3 times, ch 5, sl st with the ch 1 at the
beginning.
And that was the first square. Now let’s see how we will join them. We will call the first square A
and the second one B.
Make the first 3 rounds of square B. Begin round 4 but only until you get to the corner. In the
chain 3 space in the corner chain 3 (instead of 7).
Join the corners of square A and B with 1 sc (make sure that A is on the wrong side).

Ch 3 and crochet 1 sc in the same 3 ch space on the corner of B.
Continue like this until the next corner. On the corners proceed as you did on the first corner:
Ch 3, join with one sc in the corner of the A. Ch 3, 1 sc in the same ch 3 space of the B.
If you have to join one square between 2 squares, you will continue with joining the second side
in the same way after finishing joining one side like explained above.

Always keep an eye on the diagram to know how you will join the squares. After making the top
part of the front you will have to make the back part in the same way and then join them
together.
The back and front are joined together with one square. You can see it in the diagram as the
square with a line in the middle, meaning one half is on the front and the other half on the back.
After you joined the back and front, all you have to do is to keep adding squares until you get
the desired length.
Shoulder straps
We will make the shoulder straps while we make the single crochet border.
Join the yarn at the armpit and start making sc in each ch space. If you have a 5 ch space for
example, you will make 4 sc. The last sc from the current ch space and the first one from the
next ch space are worked together like a decrease.

When you reach the top corner, ch 60 then turn and make sl sts in each of the 60 ch sts. You
can make sc as well. When you get to the same top corner, you continue with the sc border until
you get to the opposite top corner where you will make the other shoulder strap.
After finishing the border and the straps you will tie them together. You can make the shoulder
straps at the end or right after completing the upper part of the top.
I added 3 rounds of squares from the armpit, but you can make it longer if you want, just by
adding more squares to the length.
Fringe
I added at the end some fringe to complete the boho style look. I attached the fringe in each ch
space at the bottom of the top.
Fold them in half, insert the loop through the ch space, then grap the ends and pull them
through the loop and tie. At the end trim the fringe ends to have the same length.
And done! You have a nice boho style top to wear this summer.
