RESEARCH- systematic method of finding solution of a problem.

BIAS- one side of the discussion is presented.


“KIND OF BIAS”
1.INTENTIONAL- changing the result of an experiment.
2.EXAGGERATION-Overemphasize the negative/positive side.
3.OMMISION- when there are information that are not presented in the
data.
4.BIASED SAMPLE- sample represents people.

RELIABILITY-you produced the same result.


VALIDITY-measure what it intends.
CREDIBILITY-how believable the data are.

ADVOCACY- carefully considered planned process to influence


multiple stakeholders to achieve specific outcomes.
CAMPAIGN- influence a larger group of people.

ARGUMENT- determine the degree of truth of another statement.

“STRATEGIES”
ETHOS- convinces and audience.
PATHOS- appeals to emotion.
LOGOS- appeals using facts,figures and etc.

OPINION-A view, a judgement, or an appraisal about a practical matter.


ASSERTION- something declared or state positively.

ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY- an essay purposely written to influence its


readers through usage of facts and evidence.
CLAIMS-to prove that something is not true.
CONFLICT- strong disagreement between people.
REFUTE- top say that something is true when some people may say it is
not true.
INFERENCE- conclusion or opinion that is formed because of known
facts or evidence.

NARRATIVE ESSAY- is one that tells story.


DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY- provides detailed sensory description of
something.
PERSUASIVE ESSAY- a type of academic writing where you use logical
arguments.
EXPOSITORY ESSAY- genre of writing which tends to explain,illustrate,
and clarify.

“STRUCTURE OF AN EXPOSITION”
INTRODUCTION-state what the issue is.
BODY-Why should people believe you.
CONCLUSION-strongly repeat what you believe.
A NEW PARAGRAPH EACH POINT- a use of words that show the authors
attitude.

EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEECH- prepared rehearsed speech before actual


speaking time.
IMPROMPTU SPEECH- delivered without notes, or a plan, and without
any formal preparation and no thinking time given.
MEMORIZED SPEECH- speech delivered from memory wihtout reliance
on notes or an outline.
MAMUSCRIPT SPEECH- delivered with a script of the exact word.

MULTIMODAL- communicated through combination of two or more


modes.
ELEMENTS:
Visual- refers to the image and characters that people see.
Audio- focused on sound.
Gestural- refers to the way movement is interpreted.
Linguistic-most widely used mode because it can be both read and
heard on both paper or audio.
Spatial-refers to the arrangement of elements in space.
