Exams
Students will complete 3 evaluation periods (4 exams assignments on Cambridge
one and one video assignment on Campus Virtual) during the semester (see
dates below). All questions about the evaluation process MUST BE cleared by the
application date. Refer to your teacher for help if needed.

Evolve digital exams:

For each evaluation period there will be open 4 progress check assignments (one
for each unit) each one is made of 5 tasks divided into A to F. The evaluation
assignments allow to answer them twice; However, only the first attempt will be
considered. Students cannot go back when they have completed a section. Also,
if the assignments are answered late, they won’t be evaluated.

Listening:
Students will listen to an audio and answer some comprehension questions. They
could fill in the blanks or select answers from multiple-choice options. Each audio
can only be played twice. It is necessary to consider using headphones or
speakers while taking the exam.

Reading:
Students will read a text passage and answer questions to check their
understanding. Most exercises might be multiple choice questions.

Writing:
Students will answer some grammar and vocabulary exercises during this part of
the assignment. The types of exercises may vary between completing phrases
and selecting the correct word.

Campus Virtual speaking exam:

For this task the student is required to record a video of them talking about a
specific topic that will be detailed in the assignment specifications.
AI use.
Students caught using AI tools and translators will not be graded and their
activities will not be considered for the rest of the unit. Your teacher is here to give
feedback to be better in English. The job cannot be evaluating + giving feedback
AND constantly finding incidences of cheating.

CambridgeOne.org production.
The assignments on the Cambridge One platform must be completed. These
tasks check your production speaking and writing. As such, your creations must
be authentically your own; that means not reading from examples, not using the
model, avoiding full translations of texts, delivering texts and audios in due time.
Otherwise, incurring these unwanted practices, the activities will be marked as 0
and the lesson/unit will be forfeited. Pay close attention to instructions, then
proceed to speak/write, and submit to the best of your ability.

Important recommendations:

- Time management: Make Monday the starting point for a productive and
successful week. Review your students´ guide on CV, create a schedule, and
complete your tasks step by step. This approach reduces the stress and anxiety
that often comes with last-minute work. Moreover, completing assignments early
gives you a chance to deal with any technical issues that may arise. Please note
that receiving assistance from either the professor or Cambridge technical support
can be difficult on Sundays at night.

- Video assignments: Before recording your video, please make sure to read the
instructions in the students' guide and check the materials carefully in order to
complete the specifications of your video. Overall, all the videos must last 2
minutes. You must speak loud and clearly, be visible in the video, avoid having
background noise and more importantly avoid reading during your assignments!

- Evolve Digital and production activities: Check you have completed all your tasks
before the due date. Similarly, read the instructions carefully, identify what each
activity requests and cover all the points that must be included in your writing and
speaking tasks. As all of you are aware, using AI or translation software will be
severely penalized, as well as plagiarizing the model example from the activities
might result and having a 0 in the unit.

- It´s the students' responsibility to constantly check their feedback and grades
once they are provided in the course gradebook. In case of having any concerns or
need clarification send your teacher a message as soon as possible. Unfortunately,
it´s not possible to modify grades from previous weeks, this includes checking
assignments that weren't done on time, shared properly or add extra activities.
In case of having problems doing your activities in Cambridge, get in touch with your teacher by
giving the following details: Your full name, group, the assignment name and unit, and a short
clip/picture showing the problem with the site.
