RESEARCH METHOD
3.0 Introduction
This chapter is concerned with the methodology that was used for carrying out the
research. The chapter is presented under the following sub-headings: design of the
study, area of the study, population of the study, sample and sampling technique,
The descriptive survey research design will be adopted for this study to elicit
Descriptive research designs describe events as they are without any manipulation
of what caused the event or what is being described (Ali, 2006). Descriptive survey
research design was chosen for this study because, this study is a systematic

A multi-stage sampling procedure will be adopted for this study. In the first stage,
simple random sampling technique will be used to select two communities (Romi,
Sabon tasha).
The sampling techniques to be used in carrying out the research is the random
sampling techniques. The population size will be narrowed down to determine the
sampling size.
The instrument which the researcher will use for data collection is structured
questionnaire designed in line with the research questions and hypotheses raised
while the response options will be Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Strongly
To check the validity of the instrument the researcher submitted a copy of the
The reliability of a questionnaire is the ability of the questionnaire to give the same
measurement errors. The less error in the questionnaire instrument, the more
consistently they were measured the same attribute time after time.
Due to the demand and nature of the problem, the data gathered will be analyzed
using descriptive percentage and tabular methods. The result of the findings was
analyzed based on the data gathered from those responded, research interpretation
