SECTION A
THEORY
ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS. (40marks)
1. Differentiate formula and function (2mks)
2. State and explain two types of spreadsheets (4mks)
3. State and explain five components of Ms Excel (10mks)
4. Explain the following (8mks)
a. #Name?
b. #Value!
c. Sheet bar
d. #Div/0!
5. Using cell references and functions only, state the procedure of finding grades for a
specific subject in a school (6mks)
6. Briefly state how to do calculations using the following and what they return (10mks)
a. Concatenate
b. Counta
c. Countif
d. Proper
e. Today
SECTION B

a) Create the worksheet shown above.


b) Set the column widths as follows: Column A: 8, Column B: 14, Columns C & D: 15,
Columns E & F: 14.
c) Insert a column for employees’ contacts in between salary and Names columns and a
remarks column in between sales amount and commission.
d) Enter the formula to find COMMISSION for the first employee. The commission rate
is 2% of sales
e) Enter the formula to find TOTAL SALARY for the employees
f) Enter formula to find TOTALS, AVERAGE, HIGHEST, LOWEST, and COUNT values.
g) In the remarks column, the remarks should appear as follows; those who earn a
salary of 1700 and above, should have ‘GOOD SALARY’ otherwise, ‘FAIR SALARY’
h) Format numeric data to include commas and two decimal places.
i) Insert a graph of names against the total salary on sheet 4. Rename the sheet to graph.
j) Create a Header that includes your name in the left section, page number in the
center section, and your ID number in the right section.
k) Create footer with DATE in the left section and TIME in the right section.
l) Save the file with name using your name and admission number.
