TECHNIQUES
In PUBLIC SPEAKING ___
INTRODUCTION
Delivering speeches to a large audience can be daunting without experience. This lesson focuses
on public speaking techniques, urging practice through prepared or impromptu speeches.
Prepared speeches allow time for preparation, while impromptu speeches are spontaneous. The
goal is to master speaking confidently in different scenarios, helping to tackle discomfort and
enhance communication skills.
Public speaking involves conveying information to an audience, offering benefits like critical
thinking skills, confidence, and strong communication abilities. Prepared speeches allow for
research and practice, enhancing delivery and impact. They can be memorized or delivered with
notes. Impromptu speeches, requiring quick thinking, test the speaker's ability to gather
thoughts and maintain composure on the spot. Both forms are valuable in academic,
professional, and personal settings, helping individuals effectively communicate and engage
with diverse audiences. Developing public speaking skills prepares individuals for future
challenges and opportunities where effective communication is essential.
