Field Study 1
Field Study 1
Learning Essentials:
Here are major principles of development relevant to this Episode:
1. Specific classroom rules and procedures are clear.
2. Classroom rules and procedures are discussed within the first few days of the school.
3. Students are involved in the design of rules and procedures.
4. Techniques to acknowledge and reinforce acceptable behavior are employed.
5. Clear limits for unacceptable behavior are established and negative consequences or
such are communicated.
6. Classroom processes are democratic.
Observe and use the observation sheet provided for you to document your observations.
1. As you observe the class, investigate the characteristics of the learners. Note
their ages.
3. Focus on their behavior. Are they already able to manage their own behavior?
In CSS1 they can manage their behavior when Maam Joanna start teaching or
giving theme an activity un like CSS2 some of theme are still dancing and
some times playing on computer.
In CSS 1 no because they are hard to control some of theme are not listening
but in CSS2 they can work independently.
CSS1 there attention is like 10 seconds to the teacher 2 hours to their self but
in CSS 2 when time to study there are focus
Analyze and answer these questions on observed classroom management practices. It is also good
to ask the teacher for additional information, so you can validate your observation. Write your notes
below; and the organize your data in the Table that follows.
1. Are there areas in the classroom for specific purposes (storage of teaching aids, books,
students’ belongings, supplies, etc.)? Describe these areas. Will it make a difference if these
areas for specific purposes are not present?
No because are classroom is ah computer class room only for Assessment hub
2. Are there rules and procedures posted in the room? List them down. Do these rules
reinforce positive behavior?
3. Did the students participate in making the classroom rules? If the Resource Teacher is
available, ask him/her to describe the process. What’s the effect of students’ participation in
rule – making on student’s behavior?
4. What are the daily routines done by the Resource Teacher? (prayer, attendance, assignment
of monitors, warm –up activities, etc.) How are they done?
5. Is there a seating arrangement? What is the basis of this arrangement? Does this help in
managing the class?
7. If a learner is not following instruction or off-task, what does the Resources Teacher do?
Describe he behavior strategies used.
8. What does the Resource Teacher do to reinforce positive behaviors? (behavior strategies)
Kind but sometimes when the students are too loud or not focus maam Joanna is asking theme if
they want to study or not they can walk out the door.
OBSERVE
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT MATRIX
Observe a class and accomplish the given matrix.
6. Handling misbehavior/off-task
behavior
7. Reinforcement of Positive
Behavior
1. How did the classroom organization and routines affect the learners’ behavior?
2. What should the teacher have in mind when she/he designs the classroom organizations
and routines? What theories and principles should you have in mind?
3. Which behavior strategies were effective in managing the behavior of the learners? Is
motivating students? Why were they effective?
1. Imagine yourself organizing your classroom in the future. In what grade year level do you
see yourself? What routines and procedures would you consider for this level Why?
In the future, I see myself organizing a classroom for 11th grade. For this level, I
would consider routines such as structured discussions, regular check-ins for progress
on assignments, and clear procedures for group projects. These routines are essential
because they promote independence, encourage critical thinking, and help students
manage their time effectively, which is crucial for their academic success.
2. Make a list of the rules you are likely to implements in this level. Why would you choose
these rules?
Respect differing opinions: To foster an open and inclusive environment for discussions.
Be prepared and on time: To promote responsibility and respect for others' time.
Engage actively in discussions: To encourage participation and enhance learning.
Use technology responsibly: To ensure that devices are used as learning tools rather than
distractions.
I would choose these rules because they create a respectful and engaging atmosphere,
encourage accountability, and help students develop the skills necessary for success in
both academics and future endeavors.
Yes, learners should be involved in making the class rules because it fosters a sense of
ownership and responsibility among students. When they contribute to the rules, they are
more likely to understand their importance and adhere to them, creating a collaborative
and respectful classroom culture where everyone feels valued.
Paste pieces of evidences of classroom rules that work in class. You may also put pictures of the
physical space and learning stations which contribute to the effective implementation of
classroom management.
