What makes living things different from nonliving things?

C. Explain The teacher will explain the difference between living things
and nonliving things.

Living things are objects or organisms that have life. They

grow, move, reproduce, respond to stimuli, and require food,
water, and air to survive.

Nonliving things are objects that do not have life. They do not
grow, move on their own, reproduce, or need food, water, or
air to survive.

The teacher will provide examples to ensure students fully

understand the concept by placing a check or an X.

D. Elaborate The teacher will present a scenario, and students will discuss
what actions to take, reflecting on how to show care and
respect in any given scenario.

What will you do?
2. You notice your sibling's toy doll is scattered around.
After seeing it, what will you do?
3. During recess, you see your friend bullying your
classmate. What will you do?

Ask:
Did you learn something from our lesson today?
Can you tell me what we discussed?
What are the characteristics of living things?
What are the characteristics of nonliving things?

E. Evaluate Directions: Put a check (✓) if it is a living thing and (X) if it is a

nonliving thing.

V. Additional Activities / Look around your house or neighborhood and find:
