Singapore on May 31, downplayed China’s
role in the conflict. While Pakistan may have le-

there is “no proof of real-time targeting support”
provided by Beijing, the CDS had said.
Pointing to China using its extensive satellite
network to monitor Indian military movements,
Lt Gen Singh said, “When the DGMO-level talks
were on, Pakistan actually was mentioning that
we know that your such and such vector is pri-

you to perhaps pull it back. So, he (sic) was getting
live inputs from China.”
Lt Gen Singh pointed out that Indian popula-

during Operation Sindoor. “In the next round, we
will have to be prepared for that...” he said.

Govt committed to
protecting freedom of
religion for all: MEA
From P 1
T
he MEA spokesperson added that Indian
govt has always upheld freedom of reli-
gion for all in India and would continue to
do so. India’s ties with China have shown signs
of improvement in the past nine
months, since they resolved the
almost-five-year-long border
stand-off in eastern Ladakh,
leading to resumption of high-
level visits. Amid global uncer-
tainties, both sides seem keen to
maintain a steady working relationship.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh visited
China last month for a meeting of the SCO de-
fence ministers. NSA Ajit Doval has twice visit-
ed China since PM Modi’s meeting with Presi-
dent Xi Jinping in Oct last year on the margins
of the Brics summit in Russia. As special repre-
sentative for boundary talks, Wang himself is
likely to visit India this month for talks with Do-
val. India, however, is yet to confirm Modi’s par-
ticipation in the SCO summit in China in Sept.
Unlike the US, which officially maintains
that China has no role to play in the Dalai La-
ma’s succession, India has never taken any po-
sition on the issue. China maintains that the
successor to the 14th Dalai Lama can only be ap-
pointed through the “traditional” process that
includes approval by the central govt. In rare
remarks by an Indian minister, Rijiju had
backed the spiritual leader’s assertion that no
one else other than his trust would help choose
his successor. The minister clarified on Friday
that he wasn’t speaking on behalf of the Indian
govt but as a devotee himself, expressing the
perspective of the Dalai Lama’s followers.
“All over the world, the people who follow
Buddhism and who believe in the sacred, su-
preme Dalai Lama-ji… it is everyone’s wish
that the Dalai Lama-ji himself will decide.
There is no need for govt of India or for me to
say anything. I am speaking as a follower, (not)
on the Chinese govt’s statement,” he said.

looking for something new in their body art.
VAGUE IDEAS TO WORKABLE DESIGNS
Vague ideas and limited visual cues might limit tattoo artists,
but aren’t a problem for AI tools. “We often use AI apps to
visualise the clients’ concepts. This has become an extension of
our artistic toolbox,” says Mukesh Tupkar, a Goa-based tattoo
artist. Sunny Bhanushali, a Mumbai-based tattoo artist, adds, “It
helps with instant visualisation along with a unique result. That
said, at the end of the day, we believe that an artist’s touch gives
the tattoo a personal, creative and meaningful essence.”
AI as an ideator?
Not every tattoo artist is comfortable
or even accepting of AI generated
ideas. Some call it an insult to
their craft, and some have even
compared it to doing sports on
steroids. But when an artist is open
to exploring these possibilities, they
see it as a visual representation
of the client’s emotions and story.

Nature bathing, also known as
forest bathing or Shinrin-yoku (a
Japanese term), involves spending quiet
time in natural settings to slow down,
engage the senses, and be present.
Nature bathing is becoming popular

Shefali Jariwala at the age of 42, her
husband Parag Tyagi penned an
emotional note for the Kaanta Laga actress
on Instagram. He wrote, “Shefali, Meri Pari
— the ever-eternal Kaanta Laga — was so
much more than what met the eye. She was
fire wrapped in grace — sharp, focused, and
fiercely driven. A woman who lived with
intention, nurturing her career, her mind,
her body, and her soul with quiet strength
and unwavering determination. But beyond
all her titles and achievements, Shefali was
love in its most selfless form. She was sab ki
maa — always putting others first, offering
comfort and warmth simply through her
presence. A generous daughter. A devoted
and affectionate wife and a wonderful
mom to Simba. A protective and guiding
sister and maasi. A fiercely loyal friend
who stood by those she loved with courage
and compassion.”
He further added, “In the chaos of grief,
it’s easy to be swept away by noise and
speculation. But Shefali deserves to be
remembered by her light. By the way she
made people feel. By the joy she sparked.
By the lives she lifted. I’m starting this
thread with a simple prayer: May this
space be filled only with love. With
memories that bring healing. With stories
that keep her spirit alive. Let that be her
