CHAPTER 1

INTEGERS
By Mrs.Padma Patil
Properties of Integers
Rules of addition of integers
Rules for subtraction of integers
Rules for multiplication and division of
integers
Properties of Dividing Integers

• If 'a' and 'b' are any two integers, then 'a' ÷ 'b'

is not necessarily an integer.
• If 'a' is not negative integer i.e., a ≠ 0; then 'a ÷
a' is always equal to unity (1).
• For any non-zero integer 'a', 0 ÷ a = 0, but a ÷
0 is not defined.
