As in all ball sports, passing is an
essential skill to transport the ball
to finish a goal. In Basketball,
there are different ways to pass
the ball to your teammate.
OVERHAND PASS

An overhead pass in basketball


is when the player throws the
ball with both hands starting
from behind the head and
releasing the ball out front.
CHEST PASS

Chest pass, a player passes the ball


starting from their chest extends their
arms out and uses both hands to propel
the ball forward towards their
teammate. Chest passes are one of the
most basic and commonly used passing
techniques in the game. It is used to
quickly and directly pass the ball from
one player to another on the offense.
BASEBALL PASS

A baseball pass is a type of basketball


pass that is thrown using the same motion
as a standard baseball pass. An 
offensive player does a baseball pass by
throwing the ball with one hand overhand
to a teammate, either directly to them or
bouncing on the ground first before
reaching the teammate's hands.
BOUNCE PASS

The pass is thrown to the


floor so that it bounces to the
intended receiver.
Catching the Basketball

Receiving the ball is an important to master as


passing it. The catcher should move in front or
towards the passed ball. There are two basic types of
catches;
 Overhead Catch- a ball catch above waist level.
 Underhand Catch- a ball catch below the waist
level.
Dribbles

Are done to advance the ball to


your side of the court. Also, it is
executed to go past your
opponents' defense.
Low dribble

Is done by keeping the ball


bouncing low, nearest to the
floor.
High Bounce Dribble

Is done to move the ball to your


side of the court quickly, or when
executing a fast-break.
CROSS OVER

This is a dribble that use a quick


change of direction using both
hands alternately. The aim if a
crossover move is to confuse
your defender on which direction
you are going.
SHOOTING

In playing basketball, the goal


of the players is to put the ball
through the ring to earn points.
Shooting the ball is an important
skill one must learn to play the
basketball effectively.
Types of Shots

1. Push shot, Two hands


2. Push shot, One hand
3. Lay-up
4. Free Throw
