Public Storm Warning Signal #3
Thunderstorms, hurricanes, and tornados!
Public Storm Warning Signals are raised to warn the public of incoming weather disturbances. Once a Storm Signal is raised, conditions are not yet necessarily felt in the given area. PSWS #3 These signals indicate increasingly strong winds and potential for significant damage. The actions required become more urgent, often including evacuation orders. Precautionary Measures Seek shelter Seek shelter in strong buildings, evacuate low-lying areas, and stay away from the coasts and riverbanks. Stay Informed Listen to the latest severe weather bulletin issued by PAGASA every six hours. Evacuate if ordered If instructed to evacuate, do so immediately and follow designated evacuation routes. Wind Speed Winds of greater than 100 kph up to 185 kph are expected within at least 18 hours. Impacts of the Winds Coconut Trees Many coconut trees may be broken or destroyed. Banana Plants Almost all banana plants may be downed. Rice and Corn Crops Rice and corn crops may suffer heavy losses. Structure s The majority of light material houses may be unroofed or destroyed. There may be considerable damage to structures of light to medium construction.
