Complete the FAFSA to Receive Federal Aid
The University of Montana uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine how much financial aid you're eligible to receive, which could include grants, scholarships, work-study funds and loans. You must apply for aid every year, but with the right information in hand, it's easy.
The 2025-26 FAFSA form is open now for students who are applying for aid for the 2025-26 academic year (July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026).
UM’s priority deadline for receipt of the FAFSA is March 1, 2025. For best results, file by this date or as soon as possible after this date has passed.
The FAFSA code for the University of Montana is 002536.
