We encourage students to explore the world of STEM careers with us! The University of Kentucky Pigman College of Engineering offers many opportunities for K-12 students to engage with engineering, with events such as our annual Lexmark E-Day, Big Blue Regatta, and Summer Programs. All year long, there are events to inspire you and your children!
The Summer Engineering Exploration Kamp (SEEK) will feature hands-on learning opportunities, guest speakers from engineering companies, and field trips to active project sites for rising high school seniors.
During the Women in Engineering (WiE) Day, high school students will meet alumni, faculty, staff and students as they explore UK Engineering. Learn about the process of applying to UK, discover what it takes to be a successful engineering student, meet UK Engineering staff and faculty, and engage with current leaders in the UK Society of Women Engineers. Parents and guardians will also learn how they can help their students pursue a career in engineering during a special parent/guardian workshop.
Engineers Day, or E-Day, is a celebration of everything engineering has to offer. From building bridges to discovering new medications to writing the software that powers our cell phones, engineers and computer scientists do the things that make our 21st-century world work. Activities for all ages!
The UK STEM Experiences is a collaboration among the UK Colleges of Education, Engineering, and Arts & Sciences. Our goal is to expose students to a variety positive learning experiences and career options in the STEM fields. The week-long day camps are designed to help students explore and integrate the STEM disciplines through authentic hands-on projects and real world applications. Camps are available for elementary, middle, and high school students.
UK is the home of Kentucky Science Olympiad! Each year, we host more than 800 middle and high school students on campus for a day of academic STEM competition for students who participate in Science Olympiad at their schools.
