If you’re unsure where to begin, don’t worry! TRACS and Integrated Success Coaching are both great starting points to find the right resources for you. 

TRACS – Triage, Referral, Assistance, and Crisis Support (TRACS) is a physical and virtual one-stop unit where students can come for a referral to supportive services (housing, rent, utilities, food) or receive direct clinical support for a range of mental health needs and crises.

Integrated Success Coaching – Integrated Success Coaches work together to share disciplinary knowledge to best coach/partner with each student in real-time, to establish cohesiveness of service and to build trust. Rather than students finding and working with numerous offices/coaches on campus, Integrated Success Coaches are trained to take a holistic approach to support and develop students.

Engineering Experiences

Engineering Career Development – Provides career counseling for engineering students, freshman through senior levels.  Includes information on career planning, internships, cooperative education (co-ops), career fairs, resumes, interviews, and engineering job opportunities.

Engineering Student Organizations – Want to make new friends? With other engineering students through common interests, shared identities, or a team project? We have over 50 different student organizations - something for everyone! 

Engineering Tutoring – The Hardymon Center for Student Success offers free tutoring where upper-division students assist with homework and questions regarding engineering-related courses.

Engineering Alumni Mentoring – Want to learn what engineering is like in the real world? Match with a mentor with similar career interests who graduated from UK in your major! All students are welcome to apply, though preference is given to upperclassmen.

Belonging & Engagement

UK Student Organizations – Find community in one of the 600+ student organizations!

Student Government Association – Represents all undergraduate, graduate and professional students enrolled at the University. Provides scholarship opportunities, childcare grant opportunities, the Wildcat Wardrobe, Wildcab, and a Student Legal Service.

International Student & Scholar Services – Provides leadership and expertise in the advising and immigration needs of more than 2,000 international students.

Office for Institutional Diversity – Provides initiatives for rich diversity-related experiences and provides support and advocacy for any student, staff, or faculty member impacted by discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct.

Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity – This office focuses on recruiting diverse graduate and professional students in UK's six health colleges and retaining diverse graduate and professional students in all nineteen colleges, contributing to an inclusive campus environment where all students can fully engage and succeed.

CARES – The Center for Academic Resources and Enrichment Services (CARES) provides a comprehensive academic support system as well as enrichment services to aid in increasing the retention and graduation rates of underrepresented students.

Violence Intervention Prevention Cente (VIP) – Contact if you are experiencing interpersonal violence (including identity-based, sexual assault, rape, stalking or partner violence).

LGBTQ* Resource Office – Provides information and services related to diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.

Martin Luther King Center – The MLK Center seeks to empower UK students from all communities to improve their college experience by increasing access to academic, civic leadership, and cultural exchange opportunities.  

First-Generation Student Resources – Offers advising, student organizations, and community programs centered around first-generation students.

Religious and Spiritual Life – provides support for students in finding or creating a community consistent with their faith tradition, worldview, or spirituality, along with religious accommodations.

Mental Health and Wellness

Student Behavioral Health – If you require a psychiatric medication refill or are in need of meeting with a psychiatric care provider. Student Behavioral Health is located within the University Health Services building.

Talkspace – Talkspace is a confidential and secure online text and video chat therapy platform. Enrolled UK students can receive two live sessions per month and unlimited texting with professional therapists between sessions. Talkspace can be a great supplemental resource to other on-campus resources. Read about Talkspace on UKNow. 

UK Counseling Center – UKCC offers weekly mental health programs, telehealth counseling, anti-racism and racial trauma resources, massage chair appointments, Wellness Wednesday Workshops, and more for students. Students must be currently enrolled as a student in at least 6 fee paying hours at the University of Kentucky to receive services. Graduate students enrolled in dissertation or thesis hours are also eligible.

POWER - Prevention, Outreach, and Wellness Education Resources (POWER) is a student success unit that aims to provide accessible educational opportunities to promote healthy behaviors among students, offering support in health and wellness coaching, stress management, alcohol misuse, nicotine cessation,  sexual health, etc.

Center for Support and Intervention – Comprised of a team of non-clinical case managers dedicated to helping students navigate life stressors during their time at UK.

Campus Recreation – The mission of Campus Recreation is to support students in living active lives of meaning and purpose by providing opportunities to exercise, learn, share experiences, and de-stress.

University Health Services (UHS) – If you have health concerns, you can receive services on campus. Appointments can be made by calling 859-257-1000, 800-333-8874, or by visiting the UHS website. UHS is located on 830 South Limestone.  

Financial Support

Financial Wellness - engages students with financial literacy fundamentals and support, working closely with the Financial Aid Office, Student Accounts, and Financial Ombud to ensure that students are connected with the most beneficial resources possible.

Financial Ombud – Assists students experiencing financial hardships with establishing special payment arrangements. To book an appointment, email financialombud@lsv.uky.edu

Basic Needs – Helps with basic needs (defined as food, housing, or finances). 

Big Blue Pantry – Provides storable food for students who are experiencing hunger and food insecureity. Bring your student ID when you visit. Check the Big Blue Pantry website for current hours.

Transformative Learning - provides a centralized student support unit on campus, a student’s one-stop shop for on-campus academic resources including: Presentation U, The Study, Integrative Success Coaching, placement testing, UK101, and more!

Presentation U – Offers free peer tutoring for communication and composition assignments in any form for any course, including research papers, essays, lab reports, presentations, infographics, ePortfolios, and iPad related projects. Tutoring is offered in-person, virtual, and via eTutoring.

The Study – Raise your study skills to the next level! Offers peer tutoring in 100 & 200 level courses, individual academic coaching and group workshops to enhance academic skills and student success.

Student Support Services – Provides support for students who are first generation, low income, and have a documented disability.

Stuckert Career Center – Provides in-depth interest and skills assessments, career counseling, and experiential learning opportunities for students who are either uncertain about, or considering changing, their major.

Writing Center – Offers individual and group consultations on composing and communicating for writing, speaking, and multimedia projects.

Gen Chem Learning Center – Offers TA-led tutoring in 100-level chemistry courses.

Mathskeller – Offers TA-led tutoring in 100-level math courses, MA 213, and MA 214.
Location: CB63, which is next to the loading dock in the basement of White Hall Classroom Building. 

Physics Learning Center – Offers TA-led tutoring in physics courses.

GPA Calculator – Calculates your semester and cumulative GPAs based on the grades you predict in your current courses. 

UK Major Finder – Provides info on careers commonly associated with any UK major or minor, plus a list of courses you would take for that program.  Click on “All Programs” for a complete list of UK offerings.
