From the end of 2021, and so far in 2022, the the world faces a shortage of fertilizers, driven by a rise in prices of approximately 78% in this lapse. Additionally, fertilizers have ceased to be available in the market, due to the fact that numerous production plants facing negative margins stopped production, due to the increase in the price of energy, among other reasons.

This systematization presents the outcomes of the use of the "Women in Development" approach (WID) by FAO-Haiti. This women-only approach recognizes the productive role of women, in addition to their reproductive role, and seeks to improve women's living conditions through the implementation of Income Generating Projects.
