New England Conference: Camping and Retreat Ministries

Camping and Retreat Ministries

Ever since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities – God’s eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, because they are understood through the things God has made.

– Romans 1:20

Aldersgate Camp & Retreat Center

1043 Snake Hill Road
North Scituate, RI 02857
North Scituate, Rhode Island

Camp Aldersgate is big enough to find yourself in! With over 200 acres of woods and trails, you can discover all the wonderful and amazing things which God created, things as tiny as a spider or as huge as a tall pine. You realize that you're one of these wonderful things, too, that you fit into God's plan and have a purpose here.

Camp Aldersgate has a lake for skating, fishing, swimming, boating, sailing, canoeing, baptizing, or just gazing upon. Camp Aldersgate has quiet spots for meditation and busy spots for games, campfires, or walking with friends. Aldersgate brings all this to campers as well as retreat and picnic groups year round. Our summer programs provide special experiences for children, youth, adults, families, and persons with a variety of special needs, giving all the chance to grow in exciting and different ways. Campers learn to worship, praise, sing and gain new understanding of our Christian faith. They learn about outdoor living skills, new games, rope courses, swimming, canoeing, rowing and stewardship of our food and natural resources.

Camp Aldersgate is an American Camping Association Accredited Camp and a member of the Rhode Island Association of Camps, subscribing to its principles of operation. If you'd like to learn more about us, call, write or come for a visit.

Wanakee United Methodist Center

75 Upper New Hampton Road
Meredith, New Hampshire  03253-9516

Wanakee is located in central New Hampshire, along the shore of Lake Pemigewasset, in the town of Meredith.

We are a Christian adventure camp and retreat center providing eight weeks of summer camp programming for children, youth, and adults, as well as events year-round. We emphasize small groups designed to further growth in mind, body, soul, and strength.

Our rural location and 227 acres of forest, fields, shorefront, and winding stone walls provide the perfect place to enjoy all that camping has to offer: wake up to singing birds and fall asleep to the hoot of an owl. Enjoy a beautiful sunset. Challenge yourself on the high ropes course or by climbing our 32-foot climbing wall.

Each summer, over 400 campers live in a Christian community, swim in a spring-fed lake, enjoy great food, and make friends that will last a lifetime. Summer programming is supported by 22 highly-trained staff and over 60 dedicated volunteers.

Our Homestead Retreat, a modern log cabin, hosts our year-round retreat program. Please contact us to rent this space for your youth group, family, staff training, or ski weekend. You can also rent our full site in the spring and fall.
