“I’ve learned that you must trust yourself in work and life, even if you’re making a big decision like I did to move across the country.”
What to expect

What can I do on my time off and are there organized activities?
Yosemite is full of rich history and many opportunities to try new things. You are surrounded by breathtaking views and opportunities to visit iconic landmarks such as Half Dome and El Capitan. On days off you can take advantage of the park by exploring the sites in the valley, or take a drive to the high country and experience the beauty of the park without another person on site. You can also take the opportunity to adventure to one of the many groves of giant Sequoia trees across the park.
In the summer employees can take advantage of rafting, hiking, rock climbing and more. In the winter we offer ice skating, skiing, snow tubing, and cross country skiing. There is something for everyone!
Additionally, we organize a variety of employee activities, including movie nights, day trips, BBQs, sporting events, group hikes, and more!
-
Where can I go shopping or get essential items?
You can get all of your essential items at our Village Store.
-
Is there cell phone and internet access?
There is internet access. Cell reception in the park and surrounding areas is limited, so be sure to carry a map or GPS.
-
Are there appearance guidelines?
We have uniforms available for you depending on your role here. We require all of our team members to maintain a professional appearance, including the practice of good hygiene.
-
Is housing available and what is it like?
Housing rates vary based on position and the type of housing available.
If you are new to Yosemite, plan on very basic accommodations, including canvas tents and rustic cabins.
Room sizes vary between buildings and properties, however, for the most part, rooms are considered small and you will have 1-2 roommates. Please plan accordingly. All housing has limited storage.
We provide the basic furniture of a bed, dresser/locker, and bear boxes for food storage. You are required to bring your own linen and bedding. If you join us, we will send you a full packing list to help with your transition to the park.
-
Do you hire international applicants?
Aramark is proud to partner with J-1 Visa sponsor programs. Interested international applicants should apply directly with their host country sponsor to begin the process.
-
Where can I get or make food?
We offer discounts on most food operations in the park and at grocery stores (exceptions apply). We also offer community kitchens for those who prefer to cook for themselves.
-
What is the best way to get to the property? Can I bring my car? Or what transportation options are there?
If you are flying, there are a few airports approximately 2-5 hours away, including Fresno International Airport, Sacramento International Airport, and San Jose International Airport.
Public transportation from these airports is available at different rates; plan ahead as some trips can take up to 6 hours.
There are free shuttles that transport you around the Yosemite Valley, and a low-cost bus system for nearby communities. Tickets, routes and schedules can be found at www.YARTS.com.
Employees are also welcome to drive to the park, but please note that parking is extremely limited, especially in the busy summer season. We encourage associates to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and walk to and from work. In addition, the park is set up with miles of bike paths, biking is highly encouraged.
Make sure to register with the Housing Department if you plan to bring your own vehicle.
