After September 1, the Admissions Committee, composed of Orofacial Pain faculty members, will meet to discuss all candidates and select the most qualified candidate(s) by consensus. The most qualified candidates will be invited to the campus for an interview. Candidates selected for the class will be notified by December 1 of the year prior to their starting date of July 1.
Candidates who are interested in the Master of Science Orofacial Pain Program will complete the admissions requirement for the two-year residency program. Once accepted to this program, the candidate can become eligible to extend into the Master of Science Degree Program. The Master’s Program typically adds an additional year, making it a three-year program.
Candidates who are interested in the one-year Fellowship Program will complete the same admissions requirement as the two-year residency program. These candidates will need to designate their interest in this one-year program in the application.
Once a prospective student accepts their admission to the program, the program will request an I-20 on their behalf. If you need a visa to attend, please make sure to prepare important documents, including a copy of your passport biographical page, transcripts, marriage or birth certificates and passport information for any dependents, and a bank statement showing financial ability for the full first year of study.
When applying for the F-1, you must show that you have at least the full first year of tuition, plus one year of living expenses, which is valued at $17,000 per year. Students requesting an I-20 must provide additional proof of funding if bringing dependents in the amount of $7,350 for dependent spouse and/or $5,040 per dependent child. When preparing documents, please obtain a bank statement, in English, no older than 6 months. You may use multiple accounts, but do not submit multiple statements for the same account. If a family member or spouse is funding your study, please include a signed statement from them indicating that they intend to help with your expenses.
If you are a citizen of a country where the primary language is English, you do not need a TOEFL. We can also accept a degree from a school in an English-speaking country. The TOEFL is preferred for visa applications.
