PRO provides science and technology (S&T) leadership to the DoD and the Nation in issues associated with probabilistic prediction for the atmosphere and battlespace environment by:

• Facilitating the production of relevant internal and external proposals, especially those in areas not currently exploiting probabilistic approaches.
• Educating customers and sponsors in the value of probabilistic approaches in S&T and operations.
• Actively reaching out to the broader scientific community through workshops and a Visiting Scientist Program (VSP). 
• Facilitating the development of forecaster training, assessment, and operational tools to best exploit probabilistic forecast guidance.
