COAMPS-TC
The Coupled Ocean/Atmosphere Mesoscale Prediction System for Tropical Cyclones (COAMPS®-TC) has been developed specifically for forecasting tropical cyclone track, structure, and intensity. COAMPS-TC features a nonhydrostatic atmospheric model that utilizes the Earth System Modeling Framework to facilitate fully interactive coupling with the Navy Coastal Ocean Model (NCOM) and the SWAN and WaveWatch III wave models. COAMPS-TC is a leading model for tropical cyclone prediction with its real-time forecasts demonstrated to have smaller intensity errors than other dynamical models....read more
