SCHOOL-BASED ANTI-BULLYING POLICY

1. The Malalinta Elementary School is committed to a safe and civil educational environment for all
pupils free from intimidation, harassment or bullying.

2. This school-based anti- bullying policy is compliant with R.A. No. 10627 or Anti-Bullying Act of
2013.

3. Bullying shall refer to any intentional unwanted behavior written, verbal, psychological or
physical conducted by a pupil or a group of pupils against another pupil or pupils and which is
repeated overtime and in which such acts
Physically harms or damages the pupils property; or
Has the effect of substantially interfering with pupils education; or
Is severe, persistent or pervasive that it creates an intimidating or threatening educational
environment; or
Has the effect of substantially disrupting the orderly operation of the school.

4. The following types of bullying behavior are included in the definition of bullying;
Physical aggression between the bully and the victim like punching, shoving, kicking, slapping,
fighting by the use of available objects as weapons
Damage to property
Name calling
Extortion
Intimidation
Insulting or offensive gestures
The look
Invasion of personal space
Taunting pupils because of their disability or learning needs
Mimicking a persons disability
Taking advantage of some pupils weaknesses and limited capacity to recognize and defend
themselves against bullying

5. Mechanism to Address Bullying
The school principal and the teachers of this school shall be responsible for the implementation
and oversight policies intended to address bullying.
Any member of the school administration, pupils parent or volunteer shall report any instance of
bullying or act of retaliation witnessed, or that has come to ones attention, to the school principal
or school guidance counselor. Upon receipt of such a report , the school principal or school
guidance counselor shall promptly investigate. If it is determined that bullying and retaliation has
occurred, the school principal or school guidance counselor shall;
Talk to the bully and the victim separately.
Remind the bully about school and classroom rules.
Made clear to the bully how he/she is in breach of the schools anti-bullying policy and efforts
should be made to try to set him/her to see the situation from the perspective of the pupils
being bullied.
Reassure the victim that everything possible will be done to prevent a recurrence.
Notify the parents or guardians of the bully and the victim. If possible, involve the
parents/guardians in designing a plan of action.
Inform the parents of the victim regarding the action taken to prevent any further acts of
bullying or retaliation.
Record all bullying incidents in an objective and factual manner.
Continue to monitor the behavior of the bully and the safety of the victim.

Advise the parent /guardian of their right to make a complaint to the Schools District
Supervisor in the event that the parent / guardian has exhausted the schools complaint
procedure and still not satisfied and or the bullying doesnt stop.

6. Rewards, Sanctions and Permissible Disciplinary Measure
Rewards
Every Monday after the convocations, each teacher gives meritorious awards to deserving
pupils to reinforce positive behavior.
Permissible Disciplinary Sanctions and Corrective Actions in Response to Bullying,
Discriminating and Harassment.
Apologize to the victim.
Give official written warning to cease offending
Discuss the incident with the teacher, principal and or parents.
Pay for damaged belongings.
Spend time in the office or nursery
Forfeit recess or other privileges
Exclusion from certain areas of school premises.

7. This policy was adopted by the Malalinta Elementary School.Malalinta Elementary School on July
02, 2014.

8. This policy has been made available to teachers of the school and provided to the General
Parents-Teachers Association and Barangay Council and a copy was submitted to the Division
office for documentation purposes.
9. This policy and its implementation shall be reviewed and updated by the school every first week
of the start of the school year and shall submit a report to the schools division superintendent all
information and statistics on acts of bullying or retaliation.
