1. Four students - Edgar Castro, John Patrick Cruz, Jeshua Llorera, and Alma Mae Pagkaliwangan - along with their adviser Engr. Jorge B. Yasay, developed a pneumatically controlled pineapple processing unit as their thesis project. 2. The processing unit can process pineapples into slices and chunks using five processes: top and tailing, peeling, coring, slicing, and chunking. It uses a pneumatic system relying on compressed air to power air cylinders. 3. Title of Activity: (Technology Transfer) “PNEUMATICALLY CONTROLLED

PINEAPPLE PROCESSING UNIT”

Description of Activity:
The project study entitled “PNEUMATICALLY CONTROLLED PINEAPPLE
PROCESSING UNIT” is a fabricated machine that can process pineapples into slices and
chunks. it has five process (top and tailing, peeling, coring, slicing and chunking). The machine
uses pneumatic system, which relies on the use of compressed air to move the air cylinders back
and forth.
Responsibilities of the Client:
1. Provide the necessary information about the nature of activity related to his/her study.
2. Promptly notify the researchers from TUP of any potential patentable discoveries with
regards to the project study.
3. Accommodate researchers from TUP if there are further studies that will be conducted
related to the transferred technology/ machine/ prototype/ project study.
4. The Client is responsible for the cost of further studies specified above.
Responsibilities of Technological University of the Philippines:
1. Provide the study and necessary technical information to ensure a satisfactory turn- over
to the Client.
2. Give necessary information about the limitations of the project study.
3. Cooperate with the client in discussing and securing intellectual property rights to protect
potentially patentable inventions.
If both parties agreed that the project will be discontinued, the Client is responsible for the
