“If you are happy and you know it”) (The learners will perform the action song
presented on the screen)
B. Presentation
“What actions did we do in the energizer?” “Ma’am, clap, click, tap, stomp, nod, etc.”
“Very good class!” “Yeeheeeyy!”
“Since you already identified them correctly,
what do you think are these action words called?” “Ma’am, action”
“Nice try class! But our lesson for today is all
about verbs” “Teacher, what are verbs?”
C. Discussion
“Verbs are words that are used to describe an
action, or a state of being like walk, sit, & stand.” “Thank you Ma’am!”
“Don’t you know that you can encounter action
words in your daily activities?” “Wow!”
“So now class, I have here 3 sentences and I want
you to identify the verbs found in the sentence.” “Yes Ma’am”
“The lady talks.” “Teacher, its talks”
“Very good, talks is a verb”
“Okay next sentence, the ballerina dances.” “Ma’am, its dances”
“Excellent guys!”
“Let’s try the third sentence, Dace sings.” “Miss the verb is sings”
“Excellent children! Talks, dances, and sings are
verbs since they denote actions” (The class listens attentively)
“Okay so class, do you understand?” “Yes teacher!”
“Very good!”
“Do you have any clarifications regarding our
topic?” “None Ma’am”
D. Enrichment Activity
“This time, I want you to stand and follow what I
say.” “Okay teacher”
“When I say jump, you jump, clap, dance.” (The pupils will perform what the teacher says)
“Well done kids, okay since you have executed
the actions well, please take your seats” (The kids will sit down)
E. Application
(After 3 minutes)
F. Generalization
“Again class, what are verbs?” “Teacher, verbs are action words.”
“Bravo! Since we already know that verbs are
action words like dance, clap, run, stomp, etc. and
we had understood what verbs are, we should
make sure that we will do actions that are proper
too, like helping in the house chores. Is that
clear?” “Okay teacher, we understand!”
IV. Evaluation
Direction: Read each item carefully and underline the verbs that are present in each sentence.
