    This FREE product contains 3 passages that
    target COMPREHENSION and FLUENCY. It is
    designed for kindergarten students, but you
    can also use it with other struggling readers
    as well. Each passage is offered in 2 versions:
    a standard version and a “color the evidence”
    version.

    The students will:


    • read a passage 3 times and color a star
    after each reading
    • answer 3 comprehension questions (some
    passages have only multiple choice questions,
    some include a constructed response as well)
    • color the evidence in the text using 3
    different crayons (only in version 2)
    • color/ draw a picture to match the passage

    Suggestions:
    If you teach small group: tape a copy to the
    board and work on the passages at the
    same time with the kids.
    If you teach whole group: use the overhead to
    model it.
    Version 1 EXAMPLE
