PSYCHOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE OF SELF

“When we are no longer able to change a situation – we are challenged to

change ourselves.” My journey begins with my physical appearance and self-
esteem. I concluded that I badly need change to fit in people’s beauty standards
and I have always wanted to please them. There has always been a gap between
what I want to be and what others want me to be. I did self-reflection wherein I
have experienced different emotions; in the most perplexing ways. Without even
realizing it, I changed myself trying to prove my worth to other people. Little did I
know that I have already forgotten my value. Through that, the I and Me turns
completely way too different from what I have envisioned it to be.
My life went chaos when I started to doubt myself, especially with the flaws
and weak points that I have and that I tried my best not to get loose of my hidden
self. Throughout my life, I often tend to show my fake self rather than showing the
self I knew I am, and I try way too hard to be someone I know I am not.
Nevertheless, I still believe that I do good things and that I am capable of making
myself better each day. If we truly want to find true happiness, we must be
authentic and be the best version of ourselves. We must try to let go of who we
think we should be, but instead, be who we are.
