Social Media has been evolving, changing our lives, making it easier for us to transmit
information and connect with other people. The evolution of social media has brought changes
not just by means of delivering information but how the people interact with one another.
Looking back on how the people communicate in the last 500 years, it shocked me on how much
the social media has improved. The way of transmitting information and communicating
nowadays is a lot much better than it was last 500 years, and me, myself would choose the way
Shirky’s Ted talk explains how social media affects our lives every single day. From
how we start our day, seeing weather updates, news, playing music while drinking a cup of
coffee, video chatting and texting with friends, scrolling, reacting and posting on instagram,
twitter, and facebook until the moment that we fell asleep. Social media plays a big role in our
everyday life. We’re too hooked on social media that we thought we can’t live without it. And as
it evolves, we are getting more and more attached on social media. Shirky also tells stories about
the media transformation. He tells about the four periods where media has changed enough to be
the letter. But right now sending a message can be only done in a second. Starting a conversation
with your family and friends that have been working in other places can be done by just clicking
the call button in our phones. If there was only one receiver or one sender of the information in
the past, now the internet provides an opportunity in which there are multiple receivers and
senders of information. If you wanted to inform everyone about an upcoming event you don’t
have to see them just to inform them about it, you can just create a group chat and send a
message inviting without exerting so much effort just to deliver the information. Social media
plays an important role in our current situation. Covid-19 has been spreading and the only way
that we can prevent is by providing safety precautions about it by the use of social media. Social
media have been the crucial factor in implementing the Covid-19 prevention. With the help of
internet we can stay connected. In the past, not everyone has the power to provide information,
but now each of us has the capability to spread information. The only thing that we have to do
