Grade 9

Quarter 1 - WeeK No. 1

MELC: Explain how the respiratory and
circulatory systems work together to
transport nutrients, gases, and other
molecules to and from the different
parts of the body
Code: S9LT-la-b-26
To the Learners:

This Learning Activity Sheet (LAS) will serve as a guide to your basic skills in Science. This learning activity
will serve as your primary reference in terms of concepts and principles for you to perform various activities.
and assessment work stated herein.

This may not be enough of a source of information that will help you answer the tests, so hopefully you can
do more research online or online or conduct an interview with experts and industry experts in your
community.

The challenges you need to take on this task will give you opportunities to express your creativity and
develop critical thinking skills. In addition, you have the opportunity to identify the questions / tests you
would like to explore in relation to the concepts and principles emphasized in the accompanying book.

As proof of the study, you are required to create a project according to your ability and source as an
application of the concepts learned in the module. This project can be simple or complex but doing so
ensures your active participation in practical activities and collaboration with your classmates, siblings,
parents, neighbors and industry experts / experts in your community. Your teacher is always there to
support you on your learning journey especially in learning concepts and skills by doing a home-based
project.

Good luck and stay safe!

Learning
Competen Explain how the respiratory and circulatory systems work together to transport
cy with nutrients, gases, and other molecules to and from the different parts of the body
Code (S9LT-la-b-26)

Directions
: Activity 1A: Refer to the diagram and check your understanding of the breathing system
by labelling each part and giving its functions in the box corresponding to the part.

Activity 1B: The table presents the part of the respiratory systems on the first column,
and two processes during the breathing. Fill in the box with the events during inhalation
and exhalation. One is done for you. (copy the table in your answer sheet)

Activity 2A: Matching type. Listed in column A are the parts of the heart while column B,
their function. Write the letter of the correct answer from column B on your answer
sheet.

Activity 2B: Label the parts of the human heart. Choose your answers from the words in
the box.
