1. SCOPE
This procedure covers for application of a hydrostatic testing of complete piping for
Water Treatment Package belong to LAHENDONG UNIT 5&6 GEOTHERMAL POWER
PROJECT.
2. REFERENCES
The current edition at the of contract award of the following codes, standards and
specification form an integral part of this Specification :
3. GENERAL REQUIREMENT
3.1. Hydrostatic or pneumatic test shall be conduct on all pressure envelopes after:
3.1.1. All fabrication has been completed.
3.1.2. All NDE have been performed.
3.1.3. Vents shall be provided at the vessel in the position in which it is to be tested
to purge possible air pockets while the vessel is filling.
3.1.4. Calibrated gauge having minimum range 1.5 to 4 of test pressure to be used.
Two pressure gauge shall be provided for pressure test and one of them shall
be located at the End pipe , in the testing position and one of them shall be
for recording.
3.1.5. When pressure test done the surface shall be used the thermometer to
measure metal temperature during examination.
3.1.6. Before the hydrostatic testing, Ensure internal of piping free from, welding
slag and other foreign material.
3.1.7. Vacuum cleaning or other methods so the piping or component will be free of
welding slag, flux, weld studs, loose scale, dirt, and debris.
3.1.8. All of Piping shall be hydrostatically tested as per drawing and the holding
time pressure shall be maintained for minimum of 30 minutes.
3.1.9. Pressure recorder (pressure time recording device and temperature record)
shall be provided with calibrated condition.

4. TESTING PERFORMANCE
4.1. For test performance shall be provided the manifold for control pressure and filling
water on each pressure gauge.
4.2. The manifold manufacture shall have minimum two vent valve for fill, pressure and
evacuate to cover hydrostatic test.
4.3. When filling water process one of the manifold shall be connected to fill or pressure
pump and make sure that vent valve condition shall be opened to evacuation the
water.
4.4. Close the filling valve and disconnect the fill pump.
4.5. Observe the pressure gauge during pumping to inspection test pressure.
4.6. When the Inspection pressure has been reached close the fill valve and observe
the pressure gauge to ensure that the inspection test pressure is maintained. If
leakage occurs at contact gasket area, the nut and bolt shall be repaired until not
found the leakage.
4.7. When the customer is satisfied during the holding time at the Inspection Pressure,
step of pressurizing may be increased slowly to the test pressure.
4.8. If the test pressure has been reached, hold at this point and begin examination for
leaks Take metal temperature reading to assure that the temperature has not
changed significantly (has not exceed 48°C.)
4.9. The fabrication shall show no visible evidence of bulging, distortion and leakage.
4.10. Upon completion of piping hydrostatic testing piping shall be drained and
thoroughly cleaned both outside and inside.

6. REPAIRS
If leaks founds at the weld area during hydrostatic test, the areas of leakage shall be
marked and repairs made using applicable and approved WPS. Re-testing shall be
performed after the repair is accepted by Client.
7. RECORDS
7.1. Hydrostatic Test Record shall be completed, reviewed and approved by Client.
7.2. Test pressure shall be recorded by automatic recording device.
