Learning Describe the main function of the major human organ. (S4LT-IIa-b-1)
Competency/ies:
Communicate that the major organ work together to make the body (S4LT-IIa-b-1)
function properly.
Key Concepts / Organs are the body's recognizable structures (for example, the heart, lungs, liver, eyes, and stomach)
Understandings to that perform specific functions. An organ is made of several types of tissue and therefore several types of
be Developed: cells. Human cells vary in size, but all are quite small.
Organ systems are groups of organs within the body that can be thought of as working together as a unit
to carry out specific tasks or functions within the body.

questions.
What have you observe in the video?
Possible answer : The video is talking about the human body organs .
How many major organs do we have?
Possible answer : 9 or 11
What do you thing is for topic for today ?
Possible answer :Major Human Organs
C. Presentation
The teacher will introduce the topic about the major human of organ and their function.
Organs are the body's recognizable structures (for example, the heart, lungs, liver, eyes, and stomach)
that perform specific functions. An organ is made of several types of tissue and therefore several types of
cells.
The cell is the fundamental it of life.
Cells that are structurally similar and functionally related form a tissue.
Heart - A muscular organ about the size of a clenched fist that pumps blood around your body. It is
protected by the rib cage.
When you are exercising, the heart's blood flow increases by around four or five times from when you are
at rest. Your body does this for you by increasing the rate of your heartbeat, thus increasing the amount
of blood that goes ou the rest of the body.
Brain-a very complex body organ that controls your body and everything it does. It is protected by the
skull.
Lungs- organs for breathing. Breathing in air (oxygen) is called inhalation. Breathing out air (carbon
dioxide) is called exhalation.
When you are exercising. your muscles need extra oxygen-some three times as much as resting muscles.
This need means that your lungs are also taking in more air, hence the harder breathing.
Liver- mainly filters the blood from harmful materials and it can also store nutrients. It produces bile,
which is a digestive fluid that processes nutrients,. Such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins into
substances needed by the body.
Kidneys - remove waste materials in the blood by filtration and the main organs of excretion.
Organ systems are groups of organs within the body that can be thought of as working together as a unit
to carry out specific tasks or functions within the body.
Circulatory system the body's transport system. It is responsible tor transporting oxygen, nutrients and
other essential compounds on the cells. It also transports carbon dioxide and other wastes away from
cells for elimination from the body.
Respiratory System - a series of organs responsible for taking in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide. The
organs under this system are nasal cavity. pharynx, larynx, trachea, lungs, bronchi, bronchioles and
alveoli.
Digestive System- to reduce food to simpler form that your cells can absorb. Mouth, esophagus,
stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, small and large intestines, appendix, rectum and anus are the
organs that work together in this system.
Excretory System to get rid of wastes that are not helpful to the body. The body organs under this system
are kidneys, ureter, bladder and urethra.
