I. Objective:
Describe the main function of the major organs. S4LT-IIa-b-1
A. Engagement:
1. Ask the pupils, how well do they know about the human body.
Then, let them sing the song “Science Song” as you play the video.
2. Drill: Supply the missing letters to form a word which is related to the internal organs of
the body.
3. Review: Anatomy Trivia: Let the pupils answer the trivia questions and then try to guess
the answer.
Example: Which is the largest organ in our body?
Answer: The skin
4. Motivation
Present a story.
John Loyd is a grade 4 pupil and a member of an ethnic group called Badjao. He
will be representing their school for a swimming competition. Determine to bring honor
to the school, he extensively prepares for his competition. One day while having his
swimming practice, he suddenly felt a tingling pain in his leg area. He was also having a
chest pain causing him shortness of breath. He was then rushed to the nearest hospital and
were advised by the doctor to stay for a clinical laboratory test.
Ask:
1. Who is the character in the story?
2. What ethnic group is he a member of?
3. What will happen to people who frequently hold their breath for a long period of
time?
4. Is it right to extensively exhaust our body?
5. What are proper ways of caring our body?
Infuse the value of proper caring of the body.
B. Exploration:
Present an activity, show a picture that enables them to identify the name of the parts of the
major internal organs. Provide a choice of answers.

C. Explanation:
Present a picture of major organs of the body though multimedia presentation.
Introduce the concept of the lesson.

Today you are going to learn about the major organs of our body that works together to carry

Present sample pictures of each organ and explain each organ’s important function.
Differentiated Activities:
Say: This time, let us have some activities for you to practice and master the concept. (Setting of Standards)
Here’s the direction. Each group will be presenting their output after 5 minutes and for you to do that
you have to choose your leader.
A. Anatomy Crossword
Learners will answer the crossword puzzle through the given function of
each organ.
B. 1 Organ 2 Words
The group will arrange the puzzle picture of the major organs and describe its
function in two words.
C. Word Bank
The teacher will flash the function of the major organs of the body. Let the pupils
choose their answer on the given word bank and write it on their respective mini boards.
