21 January 2021 : Mazi Vasundhara e-pledge

With the direction from the principal sir and vice principal sir,
‘Mazi Vasundhara-MITRA’ e-pledge campaign run by
Environment & Climate Change Department, Govt. of
Maharashtra is taken by the NSS students and coordinators,
faculties and students from various departments. Around 30
students have taken the e-pledge individually

23 January 2021 : 125th Birth anniversary of ‘Netaji’ Subhash Chandra


Bose

On the occasion of this 125th birth anniversary of Netaji, NSS


Team have arranged the competition as like Digital poster
preparation and elocution competition. The competition was
specific to the NSS enrolled students due short period of time.
Four students were voluntarily participated in the elocution
competition.
Two students namely Swarali Varma and Prabhjyot Kaur have
delivered a wonderful speech on the topic like ‘Inspiration from
Netaji for today’s generation’ and ‘Struggling life of Netaji’.
Prof. V. R. Upadhye from Civil Engineering Dept. was called as
the judge for the elocution competition

25 January 2021 : National Voters Day

On the occasion of Foundation day of Election Commission of


India (ECI) which is celebrated as ‘National Voters day’.

The theme for this year as ‘Making our voters empowered,


vigilant, safe and informed’ envisages active and participative
voters during elections. It also focuses on ECI’s commitment
towards conducting elections safely during the COVID-19
Pandemic.

This theme is circulated online to our students and faculties


through social media like Whastapp, etc.

First Year Induction Program…

Department of Architecture

To make the new students aware about the environment of


Institution, the first year induction program was conducted in the
department under the guidelines specified by the BATU
University. Academic session for First year architecture students
admitted in Jan. 2021 has been conducted online from 14th Jan.to
22nd Jan 2021. Various activities to unleash and refine student’s
talents were conducted.
The online program was inaugurated by the address of
honorable principal Dr. Nilesh Patil Sir, HoD Prof. Kuldeep Bhatia
welcomed all the students with her warm encouraging words .
Introduction session of students was conducted by Prof. Pranita
Pranjale.
During these one week schedule department organized
different interactive activities for students with following
objectives :
• To enhance the creativity through the skills like observation,
writing and sketching;
• To unleash their knowledge of structural systems;
• Module/ object designing;
• To explore the creativity of students in the form of story or
poetry;
• To inculcate environment awareness;
• To think and present their thoughts graphically;
• Ability of understanding of shapes and forms.

Student Association EMIT Selection


Student’s association by the name EMIT selection process began with
the collection of online application of 27 students on 06/11/2020.
Based on the applicant’s strengths Dr. S. M. Badave and faculty member
Prof. S.S.Kohli decided the association members. The aim of this
Association formation was to select a team which could work together
for the betterment of Department in both technical and non-technical
activities. The candidates had filled their nominations submitted
through google form and later attended a meeting to have a discussion
on the applications. The results of the association were declared on
15/12/2020 on the basis of the response of students as below:

Energy Conservation Awareness Program


The Department of Electrical Engineering under the guidance of Dr.
S.M.Badave, Head of Electrical Department, had organized an Energy
Conservation Program in association with Maharashtra State
Development Agency (MEDA) on 19/12/2020. This program was
organized on behest of Energy Conservation Week from 14th December
to 20th December to create awareness among the participants. The
speakers of the program were Mr. Vikas Rode, Divisional General
Manager, MEDA and Mr. Vijay Kale, District Manager, MEDA. The program
begin with a preamble by Prof. S.S.Kohli followed by a speech by Dr.
S.M.Badave on Energy Conservation awareness. After which the speaker
had spread awareness on the following points:
• Concept of Electricity Generation
• Fossil Fuel – World’s and India’s reserves.
• Energy Scenario of the State.
• Need for Energy Conservation.
• Potential for Energy Conservation in state.
• Discussion of Energy Conservation Act – 2001
• Energy Conservation Schemes.
• Initiatives taken by MEDA.
• Certification of Energy Managers and Auditors.
• Tips for Energy Conservation in Domestic Sector.
Over 100 participants both students and industry professionals attended
the seminar.

• Examples of Network Analysis problems on Resistance and Inductance


connected to DC source and executing and observing this network
through X-Y plot and the result in the form of waveforms were also
demonstrated.
• Load flow analysis of 9 bus system and analysis on the construction of
this SLD in ATP-EMTP Software was also provided.
• Students interacted in the question and answer session to get their
queries resolved.
• 61 participants participated in this workshop.

Power System Analysis using ATP-EMTP Software


A one Day Workshop was conducted for the Electrical Engineering
students, Faculty and research fellow, to enhance the practical Knowledge
in the field of power system analysis usinf new open source software ATP-
EMTP. The workshop was organized by Electrical Engineering Department,
MIT(E) Aurangabad in coordination with College of Engineering, Pune,
through online mode and platform used was google meet. The workshop
was coordinated by Prof.Syed Imran Ali and Prof.Shital Mule under the
guidance of HOD EE Department Dr.S.M Badave.

The following are the details of the workshop:

• The session began with the inauguration of the workshop in the online
mode through google meet platform .
• The program was inaugurated by the HOD of EE Department Dr.
S.M.Badave, Prof.Syed Imran Ali, Prof. Shital Mule, Prof. S.S.Kohli and
Prof. Prashant Gawande along with the all participants.
• Prof. Prashant Gawande started the session with an introduction to
ATP-EMTP software for power system analysis.
• ATP (Alternative transient program) and EMTP (Electromagnetic
Transient Program).
• Explanation on how to download and install the ATP-EMTP Software
form website was provided.
• Demonstration on all the tools of Library and how to access that, for
practical purpose was provided.
• Options like Linear, Non Linear circuit elements AC, DC Sources as a
tool which is used for Simulation were also discussed.

Organized A Webinar on “System on Chip design”

A Webinar on System on Chip design was arranged by


Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
on 30th January 2021 for Final year & Third year students
between 11.00am to 2.00pm . Mr.P.R.Sivakumar, CEO from
Maven Silicon VLSI Training Center, Bangalore had guided
students in the field of System on Chip design. Total 37 students
and 5 faculties attended this webinar.

VLSI is the most sought field for job oriented skillful engineers in
current Industry scenario. Maven silicon had put a bright light on
opportunities and demands in the field of VLSI Design ,
verification as well as Testing.

After Webinar a short objective test was conducted to test


knowledge of students and online certificates were issued.

State Level Award for excellence in Energy Conservation and
Management
MIT Aurangabad, won the First prize in 15th State level award for
excellence in energy conservation and management by the Maharashtra
Energy Development Agency (MEDA). The MEDA award is conferred to the
facilities and units that take extra efforts for efficient utilization and
management of energy. Also efforts in conservation of energy and focus on
alternative sources of energy are counted as a parameter for presenting
the award. MIT, Aurangabad has constituted ‘Energy Cell’ to undertake
several projects and to create awareness of energy conservation among
the students, faculty and society. To conserve the electrical energy, MIT,
Aurangabad has installed renewable energy sources on campus, such as
35kVA Gasifier and 350kWP roof Top Solar System, which fulfills 40%
electricity need of MIT. MIT, Aurangabad has also extended Efforts in
technology. Dr. S.M. Badave, Head, EEE Department and Prof. S.N. Pawar
are the key faculties from MIT, Aurangabad for implementing these green
energy conservation changes in MIT, Aurangabad.. Hon. Dr. Y A Kawade,
President, G.S. Mandal, Aurangabad, MIT Director General Prof. Munish
Sharma, MIT-E Principal Dr. Nilesh Patil, and all faculties congratulated Dr.
S.M.Badave, Head, EE Department and her team members for winning this
prestigious award.

winners in this category was provided
to G.S.Mandal , MIT Aurangabad

Department of Electrical Engineering

G.S. Mandal’s Marathwada Institute of Technology’s Team Squadron has


achieved AIR 11th in Presentation and overall AIR is 18th in e-BAJA 2020
competition organized by SAE INDIA. Over 50 teams from all over India
participated in e-BAJA Preliminary round to present their virtual prototypes of
e-vehicle. The Preliminary was held on the 13th and 14th of December 2020 on
online platform. Team has scored 63.4 Points in presentation.
This time the format for the event had changed. BAJA introduced preliminary
round for the first time on digital platform. These marks will be carried forward
in Dynamics.
The students from Electrical Department with their captain Rishikesh Gaikwad
and team members Piyush Nikam , Pratibha Lahane, Vishnavi Arsul and Aditya
Vyas under the guidance of faculty mentor Prof. V.D.Saundarmal and Head of
Department Dr. S.M.Badave had worked to adopt to the changes in the
format. Congratulations to the team for bringing laurels to the College and
Department.
