The Andhra Pradesh Municipal Laws (Am~ndment) Act, 2023 (Act
No.10 of 2023).

ORDER:
The following notification will be published in an Extra-ordinary issue

of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette:-
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 1 of
the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Laws (Amendment) Act, 2023 (Act No.10 of
2023') , the Government hereby appoints the 24th day of April, 2023, as the
date on which the provisions of the said Act shall come into force.

The following Act of theAndhra Pradesh Legislature received the assent
of the Governor on the 13th April, 2023 and the said assent is hereby first
published on the 24n April,2023 in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette for general
information:
ACT No. 10 of 2A23
AN ACT FURTHER TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT,
1955 AND THE ANDHRA PRADESH MUNICIPALITIES ACT, 1965.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the

Seventy-fourth Year of the Republic of lndia as follows: -
1. This Act may be calied the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Laws shortrireand
(Amendment) Act, 2023. comrnencement'
(2) lt shall come into force from such date as the government may, by
notification, in the official Gazette, appoint.
2" ln the Municipal CorporationsAct, 1955,- Amendment of

Section 2:
(1) in section 2, lor Clause (28), the following clause shall be Act No.ll of
substituted, namely,- 1956.
" (28)'Land'- rgricrtturaland non- agricultural including land,

which has a building thereon and which is being built upcn or is
built upon or covered with water, benefits to arise out of land,
things attached to the earth or permanently fastened to qnything

attached to the earth and rights created by legislative

enactment over any street.".
lnsertion of New (2) after section20T , the following new section shall be inserted,
Section 207-4.
namely,
"207-A (1) Government shall cause to survey the land

including Government lands situated in the Municipal
Corporations in the manner prescribed in A.P. Survey &
Boundaries Act, 1923 and the rules framed thereunder as
amended from time to time.
Act No. Vltl of
1923.
Explanation: The term 'governmen,t land'shall be assigned
the same meaning as provided for in the A.P. Survey &
Boundaries Act, 1923.
(2) The Government shall also cause to issue certificate of

ownership for the owners of lands situated in the Municipal
Corporations, in the manner prescribed in Andhra Pradesh
Record of Rights in Land Act, 1971 as amended from time to
time.".
Amendment of 3. ln theAndhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1 965,-

Section 2.
Act No 6 of (1) in Section 2, afterclause (19), the fcillowing shall be inserted,

" (19-a) 'Land' agricultural and non-agricultural including land,

which has a building thereon.".
lnsertion of New (2) after section 93, the following new section shall be inserted,
Section 93-A.
namely, -
Act No.Vlll of
1 923. "93-A (1). Government shall cause to survey the land
including Government lands situated in the Municipality /
Nagarapanchayat in the manner prescribed in Andhra
Pradesh Survey & BoundariesAct, 1923 and the rules framed
thereunder as amended from time to time.
Explanation: The term 'government land' shall be assigned

the same meaning as provided for in the Andhra Pradesh
Survey & BoundariesAct, 1923"

(21 Government shall also cause to issue Certificate of

Ownership forthe owners of lands, situated in the Municipality
/Nagarapanchayat in the manner prescribed in Andhra
Pradesh Record of Rights in Land Act, 1971, as amended
from time to time.".
